    @Impartial7,

    Pathetic?--Not just Oklahoma but the entire country. Both Democrats and Republicans.

    Most all states, major cities, and citizens in are debt. Doesn't speak well for our highly funded education system.

    No reason for a country with many resources to have this kind of problems except for corrupt leadership.

    Want to fix education? Improve the management and its integrity.

    It costs twice as much to build and maintain prisons than it does to maintain schools.
    You either can fund education at the beginning or get stuck paying for jails later.

    Good on these teachers. The Oklahoma state government wants to get something for nothing, but that isn't how it works. Raise taxes.

    Time for bold leadership and major change. From my perspective, public schools are simple tools of the left. I’d just lock the doors. I'd also cancel state funding which usually is an amount per pupil. I'd issue "education savings account" vouchers to the parents to be used immediately in any accredited school or held until one becomes available. Does anyone believe these are spontaneous eruptions? Doubtlessly, they're organized by the leftist movement. Trust me. Private enterprise works. We'd see countless schools spring up all around us. The bad ones soon would fail and the good ones soon would grow.

    Sorry worf, the GOP is 100% to blame for the education crisis in Oklahoma. This is a very red state. They cut the education budget by 200 million over the last ten years. They have treated the teachers (and most sadly the children) like garbage and finally the teachers have had enough and are fighting back.

    This isn't just a Democrat or Republican thing.

    The USA was the wealthiest/most powerful country in history with many resources, and now we're in debt eight hundred thousand dollars for every second of year.

    Both the Democrats or Republicans could have prevented this but didn't.

    Most all of our states, citizens, and major cities are in debt.

    What's crazy, is that we finally have someone to change things and he becomes the most mocked person in American history.

    America like other civilizations in history, will reap what they sow.

    This is pathetic. Oil rich and heavily drilled Oklahoma, like Utah, charges the lowest royalty rates possible to 100 billion dollar oil companies. Why? Because OK politicians take big bucks from oil and gas lobbyists to basically give away the farm. Most of these GOP voters wouldn't let their kids play at a friends house if they had the same dilapidated
    conditions as their schools. Their current US History classes use textbooks list GW Bush as the sitting President. It's an embarrassment. Vote them out.
