I guess Trump saw the corruption in the Democrat party and thought that if they can get away with what they have done, it might be worth a try.

Silly Trump doesn't realize that the Democrats are held to a much, much, much lower standard than the rest of us.

However, the real question is this: can they prove criminal intent?

It's becoming a partisan editorial. I had to wait in order to get my comment approved. Apparently anything anti-Trump or anti-GOP is free game, but heaven forbid you say anything bad about the darling DNC.

"Nix said Assange denied the request, which came after Assange had said publicly that he had the emails. Clinton campaign emails stolen by Russian agents are one focus of the election-interference probes."

So despite that Assange claims he did not get the emails from Russian hackers, despite the forensic analysis, despite that no evidence has been produced to prove that Clinton campaign emails were in fact "stolen by Russian agents," the partisan speculative statement above is made as though it's a fact.

Is this news or a partisan editorial? Does anyone in the media even care about integrity anymore?

"Facebook said it suspended Cambridge Analytica over allegations that it kept the improperly obtained user data after telling Facebook it had been deleted."

Just more lies, theft, deception, Corruption and criminal activity by the party of Dirty Tricks.

There isn't a level to which Republicans won't sink to in order to win.

    Anyone tired of winning now?

DNC's server contained more than e-mail. It contained granular precinct-level voter data which allowed the Hillary campaign -- and Obama's Organizing for America before it -- to precisely target likely-Democratic voters to maximize the impact of its get-out-the-vote efforts.

This granular data is a double-edged sword, however.

Used for the purpose it was gathered, it provides a campaign a competitive -- but honest -- advantage. But a rival campaign can use it to suppress the turn-out of these same voters.

A decade ago, that suppression would be impractical: it would require going door-to-door and spending several hours chatting with each voter, learning their habits, fears, concerns, musical tastes, club memberships, and influential friends. And then making a uniquely-tailored pitch to convince them to vote for someone other than the one they were planning on voting for.

    Social media changed that.

Detailed profiles for 50 million Facebook users would allow a rival to automate that process: inserting highly- customized "news" items into the feed of voters in competitive precincts in key swing states.

    Sound familiar?

And all to get trump elected.

So Cambridge Analytica has a habit of lying, huh?

Just about EVERYONE associated with Donald Trump has a habit of lying.

. . . Treason, corruption, mendacity, and dishonor.

For Trump and his supporters, those are virtues.
