"A function called “Relatives at RootsTech” enables a conference attendee to immediately discover who among the thousands of other conference goers are his or her first, second, third or fourth cousins and beyond. Newfound relatives can then message one another on their mobile devices."

Another wonderful and "fun" tool to encourage family history and family connection.

However, the user needs to keep one fact in mind.

    **Is the data correct?**

After the "fun" it is each persons responsibility to ensure that the data that connected them is correct.

Another responsibility is to document the data. This is done by finding "Sources".

"Record Hints" **usually** provide correct "Sources" for the person and family being researched. Be careful. There are sometimes people with the same name.

A vast and wonderful quantity (sometimes a bit overwhelming quantity) of new records have become available at FamilySearch in the last 1 or 2 years. I do Danish, Swedish and post Civil War USA research. Almost all of the time the "Record Hints" are for "my" people.

If is fun to connect. But 100 % correct "data" and documentation ( "Sources" ) are of paramount importance.
