    Bountiful Guy -
“How many people have to die by nail clippers before we ban them”?

“I agree....It is just silly Obama didn't take out all the nail clippers when he controlled all branches of govt....now our convicts have to live in fear everyday because anyone, even a crazy person can go to a 7-11 and without a background check buy a fingernail clipper! Some of these clippers are semi automatic, and they can clip for decades”!

“What rational human being needs nail clippers? We need the government to monitor our use of them”.

Talk about a gross disconnect from reality! There is low information and there is plain ignorance unfortunately. My wager is not one of you would make such ridiculous statements to any survivor of a mass shooting for obvious reasons!

I'm as super pro second amendment as the next guy, but I'm going to have to side with Brave Sir Robin here, and this is probably the only time I'd ever side with him on anything.

Fact is, we have to look at the mortality rate. Do people get sick and die from vaccines? Some yes, but much more people would die without vaccines. Would this latest school killer be able to kill people with a knife or nail clippers? Yes, but not nearly at the rate he was able to mow down students with an assault rifle.

If you're not asking yourself why he was able to legally own an assault rifle before he was legally able to drink, you're brainwashed. It blows my mind that my fellow conservatives jump to these awful arguments about how we should ban this or that without looking at the breadth of each items consequences.

Fact is, guns can kill people, like almost anything else. Also a fact, assault rifles can kill people at a much quicker rate than a car, knife, screwdriver, etc...so please stop with the bad comparisons.

Note that the guy he attacked when he had nail clippers is still alive. Meanwhile the guy he attacked when he had a gun is dead.

I wonder how many high schoolers would be dead today if that kid had walked in with nail clippers? I wonder how many concertgoers would be dead today if that guy in Vegas had thrown nail clippers at them from his hotel window?

You guys need to realize that every time you try to argue in favor of guns in society, the worse your argument looks.

Yes, because we all know that nail clippers have no other purpose besides killing, and they're capable of mowing down scores of people in minutes.

This is the kind of person some of our state legislators believe should not be eligible for the death penalty.

Here we have a classic example of why we need speedy trials, limited appeals and the death penalty. He will do it again.
