Michelle Obama was condemned by Republicans for trying to get kids to eat healthy. She was attacked repeatedly for every effort she made to change school meals for the better.

Clearly conservatives love their junk food, being obese and having health problems. Carry-On!

It is interesting that McD is making these changes, I guess this follows the pattern of the past few years of getting and keeping kids out of their restaurants, btw, that was the ONLY reason I ever hit McD's. If I am going to eat a meal out, it won't be there, too many better options. But the kids and grandkids all love the place. They will be very disappointed.

I wonder if the change in the size of fries is so parents have to purchase additional orders of fries for kids so they will be full - which, you will have to do because most kids eat more than 6 fries in the bitsy size they have been adding to the meals.

Bad choices McD's and I am sure the number of visits by families will impact (negatively) your revenue in coming days. No loss at my house, since we only visit about 2-3 times a year.

It's rotten ronnies. Don't go in expecting a lot, and you won't be disappointed.
And, why is fast food always US and World news?

""A lot of times, the options are available, but they're one choice out of many. If you're in a restaurant and your child smells french fries and sees the soda, it’s very difficult for kids to get the healthier choices," she said. "

Right. More kids visit these places than bars and restaurants where they have zion curtains to keep them from becoming alcoholics. It's time Utah makes fast food places hide the cook areas from sight. And, if smells are a trigger, they need high speed exhaust fans or mandatory respirators for kids, so they don't become obese.

Who in the world goes to McDonalds for "Healthy" food?
People go there for "FAST" and "Tasty" food. Not for health food.

I think McDonalds is targetting the wrong niche here. Health nuts are not going to start going to McDonalds even if you put Perrier and Kale in your happy meals.

There are so many other places we can go for healthy food (including our home). McDonalds needs to focus on what they are good at... fast, convenient, flavor, and cheep. You're not going to win in a "health food" competition.

Neither is Wendys, Burger King, etc. That's not what they are about.

If you want your kids to be healthy... you're not going to eat at McDonalds a lot. Even if they lower the calories in their happy-meals.

But for an occasional thing, just for the fun of it (once in a while) it's not going to hurt your kid to eat a small order of fries.

If you are feeding your kids happy-meals 5 days a week and expect them to be healthy... you need your head checked.

If YOU are eating at McDonalds regularly (every day or every week) and expect to be healthy... you are crazy.
