    Welp, I am one Mormon who isn't afraid to point out that many of my co-religionists (usually the "conservative" ones) openly speak of AIDS as God's punishment, and that those sufferers deserve their illness. When we first heard of it, many Mormon doctors wouldn't treat it. Many families refused contact even with their own children who suffered from AIDS.

    I believe we have come a long way since then, but we LDS need to remember that the Book of Mormon is quite clear about how to treat our fellow human beings. Dr. Ries, a non-LDS doctor, appears to me to live Christ's teachings far better than so many of us LDS do. Orchids to her.
