I could see the helicopter hovering in SF last evening around 5:30 and wondered what was happening. Time to lock him up and throw away the key. Replace one of the men being held on pot possession charges with Llewellyn.

Criminal record over the past 15 years? This guy is incorrigible. Why has he been out on the streets terrorizing communities? He needs to be locked up for good.

For everyone's safety (law enforcement, corrections, justice personnel). PLEASE take extreme caution when transporting, interacting, and having any contact with Lewellen.

I know the ACLU and other criminal advocates/facilitators would strongly disagree, but why do we continue to support, fund, underwrite, and tolerate these career criminals . . . just sending them to repeated stays in crime school with their buddies, where they can work out and watch TV all day? People like this should get meager meals in exchange for hard labor, and then they wouldn't be so eager to replicate and repeat their favorite hobbies and avocations.

A big shout out to the Law enforcement officers who apprehended him. They serve your community and put their lives each day on the line. Thank you, gentlemen!

Spanish Fork is normally such a quiet town. It must seem like Oakland, CA this week.

The new prison will be smaller and the population of Utah is growing larger. The plan is to allow more people with an "extensive criminal history" to roam free, not fewer people of that sort.

Aggravated assault and he got a gun?

    Good guys - 1
    Bad guy - 0

With his priors, and those were only the ones we know about, he is a career and full-time criminal. Let’s see, three charges of attempted murder, and make them served consecutively, that’s at least 45 years in prison. Plus auto theft and several other felony charges. He should never get out.

Re: "[Lewellen] has an extensive criminal history over the past 15 years . . . ."

This is someone who is begging to be locked up until he's too old and infirm to be a danger to society.

With his extensive criminal record, why was he free to commit more crimes, including attempted murder? What justice system would allow him to continue his crime spree?

This dude (and his clan)need to be locked up for a good long time.

The manpower to catch him, not to mention the fear instilled by him to the residents of Herriman dictates that he should stay in a cage for good many years.

Thank goodness. And thank you Police Department for getting right on this one. He held an entire community hostage Saturday. There must be a nice spot in the new prison for his likes.
