"While the Desert New has chosen to be name the alleged suspect", he worked at this specific school, teaching this specific subject, during these years? I don't think they chose to hide who he was either!

If it was only texting, that shows bad judgment. If it was more than texting, and if the school district cut him loose, that teacher could be subbing right now. School districts like to throw the rug over incidents like this.

This article is an example of a fundamental disconnect in many policies. We would (1) never tolerate any inappropriate communication; and (2) we would never check up on any communication for any reason. Similarly, we will not tolerate contraband in school lockers, but we will not search them without permission or probable cause. The solution is not easy. While it might be a good idea to search lockers from time to time (my high school did), what are your searching for drugs? OK. Political or religious materials that differ from the prevailing philosophies of our educational institutions? Ouch!

"The teacher previously worked at Providence Hall Charter School in Herriman until Jan. 8, 2013. The reasons for his departure were not disclosed."

If similar behavior with minor children was reason for his dismissal, taxpayers have the right to know. Also, if that behavior was overlooked, by whom?
