@Vanceone there are three serious omissions in your list from what I have read
recently. One, we are due to have increased volcanic activity due to
global warming. Argument made thinning ice on Iceland, Antarctica, and
Greenland will result in major increases in volcanic activity. Two,
Climate Change will be responsible for an increase in earthquakes. I really
don't get this one.Three, Climate change is causing the earth
to be squeezed. The article claimed this was due to the Artic ice cap melting.
Who would have guessed if the ice in your drink melts the glass and the liquid
in the glass would be heavier after the ice melted than before the ice
melted.See why it is so hard to take AGW religion seriously.Don't get me wrong, I am not a warming denier. I am not an advocate
for dirty polluted air. But I think a warmer climate is a good thing. Because
of warming, olive production has spread to the Willamette Valley of Northern
Oregon. Growing seasons are longer in Canada. The earth has greened by more
than 12%. Plant growth increases with more CO2 and warmer temperatures, while
decreasing water consumption needs.
Let's not go into a panic yet. . . wait for a pronouncement from Al Gore on
Global Warming being responsible for this cold snap.
These extreme weather patterns are suggestive and consistent with global climate
change as nature attempts to re-balance what humans are doing to the
environment. The gas and oil corporations as did both the tobacco and sugar
industries have made a huge profit by using mis-information and smart marketing
and emotions to override science time and time again. This is why it's so
vital that America put more money into education so that our children will grow
up with educated minds to be able to distinguish between propaganda and
Colder than Mars? Yikes! The climate is changing!! Ban cars, cows,
factories, and raise the taxes.Hmm? Isn't half of Mercury
colder than earth while being close to the sun?
Do not panic. It is January 2nd...I expect it to be cold. Start to worry
because in July it is going to be hot. How will we survive?
@lets check the facts"Came up with a big goose egg. Zero (0)
references in the index"IPCC AR5 section 8.4 pertains to Natural
Radiative Forcings, references solar minima, solar activity and fluctuations
(perturbations), complete with citations.Perhaps look further than
@silo - Sandy, UTJan. 2, 2018 12:32 p.m.There's actually plenty
of talk about "natural cycles, orbital perturbations and solar
minimums". The IPCC Annual Report references all three numerous times
throughout the body of the report and in the cited references. There
is no such thing as an IPCC annual report. There are assessment reports with
the last one published 2014 "IPCC Fifth Assessment Report." For the fun
of it I searched for natural cycles, orbital perturbations, solar minimums in the index for the Working Group Report "Climate
Change 2013: The Physical Science Basis" (WG1AR5_Index_FINAL.pdf) which is
part of the IPCC Fifth Assessment Report. Came up with a big goose egg.
Zero (0) references in the index.
Not all of the US is as cold as the coldest spot in the US today. Donald trump
has spent much time golfing. He does not golf in North Dakota this time of year.
Not all of Mars is as warm as the warmest spot on Mars today.Mars is
not warmer than the US. Oh, and manmade climate change is real. Science.
So, the center of the Earth and Universe are portions of the USA? Ignorance is
bliss and it seems to be quite in vogue these days now that it has got its
figurehead in the WH.
Just think how cold it would be without the greenhouse effect keeping us warm!
Trump fixed the economy, decimated ISIS, and fix global warming LOL ....all in
just one year - Make America Great Again!
@james e"I guess no one wants to talk about natural cycles, orbital
perturbations and solar minimums"There's actually plenty of
talk about "natural cycles, orbital perturbations and solar minimums".
The IPCC Annual Report references all three numerous times throughout the body
of the report and in the cited references.I guess no one wants to
talk about actual research.
You know if these were record highs we'd be hearing all about the evils of
global warming. As it is I've heard a little about how even this cold snap
is related to global warming (because if you add hot water to a bowl it will
create ice, duh!). I guess no one wants to talk about natural cycles, orbital
perturbations and solar minimums. You know, science n' stuff. We'd
rather debate the shocking increase of atmospheric CO2 from 0.02% to 0.04% and
make up studies that tell us the sky is falling. There's real money in
that. Conversely, who will pay when you blame the sun?
I saw a whole bunch of leftists proclaiming how record cold weather is just
another proof of global warming. Really, it's amazing: everything is
"Human Caused climate change". Record heat? Global warming. Record
cold? Global warming. Massive storms? Human's fault. No storms? Again,
American citizens to blame. Doesn't matter what the weather is,
humanity is at fault from deviating from Gaia's perfect weather.... which
no one seems to know what that is, only that we need to turn over complete
control of our lives and money to leftists who know better than us and are the
High Priests of the Global Warming Religion.... since nothing at all could
possibly disprove it, it's a religion.
