New York is getting what it voted for. If you vote for Socialist Democrats you get open borders and lots of terrorism. I don't know how any one with a family would live anywhere near NY City. If I work there I am living in fear every single day. Not much of a life.

    @ LOU Montana

"This is a direct result of Trump declare [sp] Jerusalem is the capital of Isreal [sp]."

Holy cow! I swear, my head is gonna explode!!

President Trump did not declare that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel!!!

Israel declared Jerusalem the capital of Israel.

Now, pay attention. This may seem complicated, but I'm hopeful you'll understand.
No country can determine the capital of any country except their own.

Now - you may want to be sitting down for this one - all President Trump did was to not sign the 6-month waiver delaying the implementation of a law that Bill Clinton signed in 1995. A law that approved moving the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem by 1999, thereby recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

Have we all got that, now?

    President Trump didn't "declare" anything.

This may be one case where gun control worked. Guns are mass produced so they are reliable. Pipe bombs are homemade so they are not reliable. Assuming that New York's gun laws made it hard for him to buy a gun, then the laws forced him to resort to pipe bombs which, in his case, was unreliable.
A similar thing happened with al qaeda in Saudi Arabia. Big, visible attacks were not selective. They would kill Moslems and that hurt their image. So they became selective which made it easier to detect them.

Nothing is fool proof. But making some things harder forces the terrorists to take risks.

    "Let's not politicize this."
"It's too early to talk about reasonable pipe bomb control."
"Praying for the victims and their families."
"The answer to a bad guy with a pipe bomb is a good guy with a pipe bomb!"
"We force god out of our shop classes and this is the result."
"Take home Depot Away from law abiding citizens and only bad guys will have Home Depots."
    "Build that wall!"

There, that just about covers it.

Poetic justice that the one most injured was the perpetrator himself. Too bad that evil people feel that by hurting others they are somehow pleasing God. "Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil..." (Isaiah 5:20)

This is a direct result of Trump declare Jerusalem is the capital of Isreal.

Sadly, while you Trump people mock gun control, the terrorist are planning another attack.

Same as the one of the Vegas shooter. And the Texas shooter.

Oh, and sensible gun control works.

Trump was right. Not all people should come here. Not all societies are compatible.

Many who commit terrorism are 2nd generation. How do you vet them? It's the religion / the culture.

I wonder how many world leaders will Tweet to Donald Trump telling him how to run our country and curb terrorism? Probably zero, because they don't behave like petulant children.

"Investigators said it was not clear if he set the bomb off intentionally or prematurely."

I think the indicator was that instead of yelling, "Allahu Akbar," people in the area heard the terrorist yell, "DOH!"

@Brave Sir Robin - San Diego, CA asls: "Guns kill just under 10 Americans PER HOUR. And yet they're legal. Why?"

If you don't know the anwer I am going to keep it a secret.

Subtract all the gun deaths caused by criminals who aren't allowed by law to carry firearms and then get back to me.

Compare the number of people who die from bombs and the number of people who die from guns and get back to me.

If we were to look at it purely from a numbers perspective, the truth is we would outlaw guns and legalize bombs.

Or look at it this way: Bombs are illegal and they kill less than 10 Americans a year. Guns kill just under 10 Americans PER HOUR. And yet they're legal. Why?

@Irony Guy - Bountiful, Utah says "The same is true of most gun owners. Dangerous, but incompetent."

And you know this how? It might surprise you to learn how many gun owners are former miltary and police officers. Been to a gun range lately and seen who is practicing?

"Thank God the perpetrator did not achieve his ultimate goals," de Blasio said.

And the guy who did this believes that god wants him to blow people up for not worshiping what is the same god in just the right way. But yeah, lets 'thank god' that this guy only hurt a few people. Of course god could have stopped it altogether but lets not think about that.
This is the problem with all of mans made up deities. God never actually tells us what he/she/it wants. He only tells his 'representatives' who just happen to be the same people 'god' wants to collect his money for him.

The bomb was crude and went off prematurely. Most terrorists are incompetents--dangerous, but incompetent.

The same is true of most gun owners. Dangerous, but incompetent.

Ok this is getting ridicules. Clearly the answer is to take away everyone's guns. If no one has guns except cops, criminals, and the military, then this kind of thing can never happen. It is the gun's fault. No person can attack and kill unarmed civilians if you take away all the guns from law abiding citizens.

The problem is that if we outlaw pipe bombs then only outlaws would have pipe bombs ....... which, if my memory servers me correctly is already outlawed.

(A little sarcasm for my anti-gun liberal friends.)
