"The IEA said solar panels capacity grew 50 percent last year, with China accounting for almost half the expansion. "

Maybe Trump is a fan of solar... don't know. I know Rick Perry isn't. He is an oil man through and through. What is embarrassing here is with a technology where the US should be a leader, we are abdicating any leadership in this new generation of energy. Energy is in its biggest revolution since the advent of steam power.... and the US is refusing to take a leading role in it.

Just like the rest of the world was dependent on the US for semi-conductor innovation for the last 50 years, we are selling our kids future jobs to China over an ideological dispute - pretending the coming change isn't coming.

Baloney! President Trump is a strong supporter of solar power! Did he not suggest we put up solar panels on the wall? Great idea! Criticize President Trump if you must, but please, for your own credibility, try to be more honest!

"Of course it is. The other sources are already in place. What else is going to be "growing?"
The sources that are in place are a lot less efficient and more costly when adding in all the factors. That has opened the door for green energy. Our last President listened to the markets, his advisers and worked to position America as the source for that growth. Not so much for the current embarrassment in chief who is chasing ghosts and votes.

This like saying most shark attacks happen within 100 yards of the shoreline. Scary...but where else are people swimming.
