Our great nation has always been faced with trials and tribulations. Trials and tribulations are what forged the American character. Generations of Americans have seen problems has challenging opportunities to excel. When the going got tough Americans got going. We created a nation based on the government serving the governed. We where faced with a civil war. We went through depressions and world wars.

We never had Americans saying our nation is no longer great. We never had Americans showing more respect to a Russian dictator than our president. We never had Americans that could accept Russia interfering with our elections.

We have historically demanded decorum and behavior from our president that honored his office. Americans want a president who takes the bull by the horns and who doesn't step up and accept personal accountability by blaming others. The "but mommy, he did it too." Is an excuse we don't except from children.

    I want my nation back.

SMcloud- You are obviously a staunch Democrat voter. I would enjoy hearing about the gerrymandering of a senate seat? Just how do you do that to a state-wide race?

Like we need extremists like Tarkanian to further mess things up in Washington. I hope the voters see the scam.

@ Utah Girl, funny! "pro-Trump politicians are buying shares in an Edsel dealership."

@ Impartial, also funny! "Running on a pro-Trump platform today is like trying to buy a ticket on the Titanic-after it hit the iceberg."

@ Flashback, it's more than the lack of transparency by The Republicans. The substance is it will make things worse for the American people and provide huge tax breaks for the mega-rich. That much was clear, yet the GOP persisted. Amazing.

@ ute alumni, that community organizer was also a law professor at a top tier law school, a state senator, and a U.S. Senator. And he turned out to be a really fine President. Trump seems awfully insecure to me, particularly as he feels a need to keep going after his predecessor and his former opponent in the campaign. In this case, the Emperor knows he has no clothes.

It seems that more and more of the new GOP party are forming what I call "Only the Rich Comes First Party" as the threat to their elitist stranglehold comes under increasing threat with the changing demographics in America. This may be the last decade where the power elite might be able to keep hanging onto the ropes of power in this Country. Of course , though, the shifting U.S. Supreme Court might allow the elitist rich to keep some of their influence being felt for the next generation.

    With gerrymandering, anything is possible.

Moderates of Nevada - please vote.

This is a brilliant move! I can't imagine a better way to depose an incumbent senator. Let two Republicans battle it our in the primary, burn up their resources, and then alienate the losers supports.

You really have to question the judgement of a candidate who would jump into this circular firing squad!

This man is running because he's an prominent ex-basketball player who has a good deal of "name recognition." He's also unhappy that the incumbent isn't "conservative enough." He also suggests that Nevada's senators should be unquestioning supporters of President Trump's nefarious agenda. Each of these things strongly suggests he is unqualified to be a bus driver, let alone a United States Senator.

Perfect timing on his part! By the time the election occurs, Obamacare will be completely imploded and repeal and replace will be the only option, even for Democrats and rhino Republicans! How do you like your Obamacare triple digit premium hikes, impossible deductibles and no insurers who will cover you now? Its going to get worse! Watch it happen!

"We're never going to make America great again unless we have senators in office that fully support President Trump and his America-First agenda," Tarkanian told Fox News' "Fox & Friends."

Brother Heller must be saved. Nevada, look to it.

So, the Republicans in Nevada continue to eat their young. The Republicans had a great chance to get rid of Harry Reid in 2010 and put the wrong candidate up against him and lost. Reid was extremely vulnerable but the far right wing Tea Partiers demanded ideological purity over a good solid conservative candidate. Oops!

Sounds like Tarkanian is going to be, again, the wrong candidate again if he gets past the primary.

So, it sounds like the Republicans will be handing a seat right back to the Democrats if Tark beats Heller.

    Not good.

The failure of the Republicans repeal Obama Care is the fault of McConnell and his tactics. Had he done it right, it would have gotten done. He did the same back room deals that Pelosi and Reid did to get it passed. No transparency. That is why it didn't work out.

    It isn't Heller's fault.

I agree Heller must be replaced- with a Democrat. Running on a pro-Trump platform today is like trying to buy a ticket on the Titanic-after it hit the iceberg. Genius!
