    @Michigan Cougsfan68:

Pretty sad and slow days for byu football I guess. We do welcome you to all things Utah, as it is very apparent we are in your thoughts all day every day.

Keep trying to make a point that sticks, though. Maybe - someday - you will.

Someday you will admit to being the Utah fan that you are. We will welcome you with open arms.

    As you are well aware:

It is always a good day to be a Ute!

    CentralcoastUte,
Good job combining to separate quotes from separate posts! Utah did have a better draft class in 2017, but it was a one off, a statistical anomaly unless the Utes can do it more then once in a seven year cycle! Now the Utes are only getting P5/Pac-12 quality players and NFL talent why can't they win their division? If incredible coaches like Dennis Erickson and Norm Chow can't guide the Utes to titles then how can a OC from a directional school in the Big Sky conference? Even Ty Detmer had a better first year except for the rivalry game!

    “AzUte1,
All that NFL talent and not much to show for it! No division titles. No CCG games. No Rose Bowls! No CFP appearances!”

Actually, we do have a co-Pac-12 South championship.

Bottomline is, you’re attempting to move the goalposts w/your tangential straw-man response.

Our outright championships will come soon enough....At least we have it as a possibility each yr, whereas byu has zero chance of it, ever.

And byu never even remotely qualified for a Bcs bowl game.

Get back to us when byu-p cracks The Cfp Poll..Same goes for finishing the yr ranked.

We’re light-yrs ahead of byu-p in every facet.

And byu-p would give it’s left arm to have Pac-12 membership.

Yet, byu-p hasn’t beat a finish ranked P5 opponent in over 2 decades....They just simply don’t ever beat a good P5 opponent, including their Big Brother, who straight owns byu-p to the tune of 7 straight & counting & 12/15 & 17/25 & the insurmountable overall record, 60-34-4.

    Midmajor forever.

    Who’s your Daddy?

    Go Utes!

    @Michigan coog,

Wrong. You said each year. You didn't say total. No one has ever argued that USC is putting more in the NFL. If you can't remember what you said, here it is.

"I am pretty sure if you went back and checked each draft from 2011 to present that USC and UCLA probably beat Utah in every draft! Facts are facts!"

Then you tried to claim you went year by year, which is not what you said.

"I went year by year and in the PAC- 12 era".

    How disingenuous of you.

BTW, Utah will continue it's dominance over BYU even in their worst years.

    CentralcoastUte,
I went year by year and in the PAC- 12 era Utah has beaten USC only in 2017 and it was still 1 player less than USC draft class of 2011 with 9 players drafted! Since the first draft of the Pac-12 to present USC has had 6 first rounders to 2 for Utah and 39 total draft picks to 21 for Utah! Which works out to 4.8 per draft for the Trojans and 2.6 for the Utes! Even in Utah's best class of 8 in 2017 the Trojans had 5!

“We’re a national leader on avg in putting kids into The Nfl.”

Per ‘17 opening day Nfl rosters, we were tied for 15th most nationally @ 31 players....Only Usc @ 45 & Cal @ 32 had more from w/in our conference.

For comparison sake, usu was @ 13/byu was @ 11.

    Go Utes!

Off the top of my head I can tell you you're wrong. Last year the Utes had the most in the PAC.

“How many players did USC and UCLA have drafted this year? Since 2011? How many more 4 and 5 star recruits do USC and UCLA get over Utah each year? Utah will never outrecruit the cream of the Pac-12! Period!”

We’re a national leader on avg in putting kids into The Nfl.

In spite of all those 4/5 star recruits, we’re 2-2 against Usc/3-1 against Ucla over last 4 games....I go back merely 4 yrs, since that was the pt @ which we finally had our roster 100% full of Pac-12/P5 recruits.

You really should do your research before hitting “submit”.

    Go Utes!

8 of the 11 others schools in the Pac-12 had more players drafted in the last draft! I am pretty sure if you went back and checked each draft from 2011 to present that USC and UCLA probably beat Utah in every draft! Facts are facts!”

Just last yr, we had 8 draftees, a school record, good for 4th nationally & 1st in The Pac-12 by 3 over Usc/Ucla.

    Go Utes!

    Chicagoborn,
BYU was nowhere in my post! I was only comparing Pac-12 teams and recruiting. How many players did USC and UCLA have drafted this year? Since 2011? How many more 4 and 5 star recruits do USC and UCLA get over Utah each year? Utah will never outrecruit the cream of the Pac-12! Period!

cjd, I certainly can't disagree with your post. Much easier to sway the best athletes if you play in a major conference. With the major hurdle of no-Sunday play, I feel it is a very long shot for the Y to get an invite. If that ever happens, it would take no more than two or three years for the Y to catch the Utes and then pass them on the national stage. As it now stands, there is no question in my mind but what the Utes are well out in front. (In football only).

I have been predicting for the past ten months that the coming season will see the Utes soar in the PAC. Baring injuries to key players, they will be a beast.

This was an interesting article. Thanks for digging deep and finding something of interest during the down time of the year. Anderson can only help the U of U.

"as Utah "fans" always say stars and recruiting matter!"

Do you think that they don't matter of what? Two important parts of the college football equation include good coaching and good recruiting. Go look at past national champions and try to tell me that their recruiting classes didn't matter. Good coaching can somewhat close the recruiting gap. Utah has good coaching and talent development and is slowly improving in the recruiting department. BYU does not have either parts of the equation and their recruiting has been mediocre at best and no amount of copy and pasting past achievements will change that fact.

“Utah was 80+ points behind USC“

We’re 2-2 against Usc over the last 4 games & get them @ home this yr, where we’ve beat them 2 consecutive times....We return the vast majority of our starters, as well....[And last yr @ their place/against Sam Darnold, we lost by merely 1 pt.]

    We have superior talent-development, period.

Regarding byu, they’re a 4 W program nowadays & can never ever beat their “rival”, ever, period.

    Midmajor forever.

    AzUte1,
Good luck in your continued quest to win the south division and earn a spot in the CCG! It will be an uphill battle considering Utah finished 5th in recruiting this last year and as Utah "fans" always say stars and recruiting matter! Utah was 80+ points behind USC with 5 more recruits in your class! It will be interesting to watch GA 2.0 and see if Troy Taylor has a second year slump!
