    "Utah: If it weren't for November we would be #1."

    We both went 2-2 last November.

    While we completely slaughtered Ucla/Cu @ home & barely lost 2 extremely winnable games against ranked Wazzu/@ ranked Uw, byu-p won @ juggernauts/unranked Unlv/Uh & lost @ unranked Fsu/@ home against unranked mighty Umass.

    Therein lays the unequivocal vast disparity between our 2 programs, period.

    Go Utes!

    @My secret desire is to be Red:

    Nah that won't work. Woulda shoulda coulda has been the byu battle cry for the last 2+ decades.

    @SagerUte:

    "Don't you mean Coveyted? :)"

    That does make more sense!

    "Or maybe 'Quest for mediocrity.'"

    red-jelly-squirtle:

    Nah. I think that's BYU-P's mantra this season. After all, mediocrity is excellence to the mediocre.

    Keep him. Until he actually have a QB that can get him the ball it would be a waste of talent.

    "For Ute fans, this year has the potential to be one of the best, if not the best, teams in school history..... and that is saying something! If only we had some really catchy slogan!"

    How about "We are the Utes,...You know...the other college football team in Utah."

    Or maybe "Quest for mediocrity."

    Or finally, "Utah: If it weren't for November we would be #1."

    "Typically a good offense and defense wins games but hey if u don't have that then I guess a kicker is a good backup plan."

    Actually, my Ravens won a superbowl with great defense and a great kicking game and below average offense.

    Totally agree both Blackmon and Wishnowsky are Utes to watch this year! However that's like watching only Miss Iowa and Miss Pennsylvania in the Miss America Pageant! There are at least 15-25 other Utes that I can't wait to see how they play this year. There are highly rated recruits, there are outstanding players returning from missions, there are so many that last year showed promise and now have had one year to develop. (For example, the other paper listed 6 (one was mentioned in this article) that needed to be watched as possible NFL draftees next year.

    For Ute fans, this year has the potential to be one of the best, if not the best, teams in school history..... and that is saying something! If only we had some really catchy slogan!

    And typically, if you don't have offense, defense OR kicking, your plan is the Bottom 25.

    @Who am I sir?:

    Don't forget about the returning missionary who won freshman all-american honors as a returner. You know, the guy all byu fans said was too short to play D1 football, but have secretly (some openly) coveted ever since.

    Yessir, the kick game at the U will be very special this year - among other things.

    Go Utes!

    Onward

    @Utah rules

    "Good thing that the utes have a good kicking game. They will need it again this year."

    Typically a football team is broken down to offensive, defensive, and the kicking game. I can't tell you what comfort it is to know that almost without exception Utah will have a superior kicking game regardless of the opponent. A Ray Guy award winning punter; a Lou Groza award winning kicker; and Utah special teams are almost always outstanding.

    I can name several games where Utah's kicking game, resulting in outstanding field position, has won the game. So yes, Utah will indeed "need it again this year".

    Gustin, out of Salem Hills, in Utah county, wanted to go to BYU, but Bronco Mendenhall refused to recruit him, because he (Bronco) believed that if a player "really" wanted to go to BYU, he needed to "prove it" to the coaches. All I can say is, thanks a lot, Bronco (not).
