    Current BPI Rankings—

    LSU #67

    U #68

    byu #78

    Stanford #98

    My comment:
"Extra practices, extra games, though not the NCAA tournament; it's nice to still be hooping."

    ---
How in the world is that an arrogant spin; and how are you challenging my comment? Just stating the obvious regarding your MO; nothing more, nothing less.

It's obvuois your Cougar soul was crushed in the first 3 minutes of the game.

It's also obivous a SEC loser at a #3 seed is still better than a WCC top 3 team at #6 seed.

Hmmm, Utah still playing and the fans commenting on the Utes. BYU done for the year and their fans still commenting on the Utes. Time to give it a rest.

“Utah would have been dominated at Stanford, just like they were at UCLA and at Colorado.”

Huh? That sounded made up....How frantic & emotional of you.

We posted a winning road record in conference play this season.

No way a team such as Stanford makes up 15 pts @ home.

This proclamation of yours is nothing more than a coping mechanism byu fan employs in a vain attempt to sleep better @ night....Tsk, tsk.

    GO UTES!

"Actually it was because we were winning NCAA Tournament games during that time."

LOL how you were forced to desperately to switch topics to save face.

How did the NCAA tournament cause U to be one-and-done in 5 of 7 NIT tournaments?

You've only played in three NCAA tournaments in the last 13 seasons, yet U were 0-2 in the NIT.

The real reason why you've been so inept at winning NIT games recently is In 7 of the last 13 seasons, U weren't even good enough to play in the NIT.

Actually it was because we were winning NCAA Tournament games during that time. But congrats to BYU-P on winning a few NIT games here and there!

What’s not a shocker is how thin-skinned our little friends on the hill are anytime anyone dares to mock their arrogant spin.

@Sportsfan: “Easy answer. The Utes have been pathetically bad at winning opening round NIT games for most of the last 30+ years:...”

Having a preponderance of one-and-dones in the NIT in the last 30 years was probably not the answer that our arrogant little friend was expecting.

"Does someone else want to tell him why Utah has so few NIT wins since the 90's, or should I?"

    Easy answer.

The Utes have been pathetically bad at winning opening round NIT games for most of the last 30+ years:

    1986–87 - Opening Round Loss
    1987–88 - Opening Round Loss
    1991–92 - Final Four
    2000–01 - Opening Round Loss
    2013–14 - Opening Round Loss
    2016–17 - Opening Round Loss
    2017–18 - Opening Round Win

"I'm curious, how did BYU do in their opening round NIT game against Stanford, a team Utah beat by 15 points earlier this year?"

Utah would have been dominated at Stanford, just like they were at UCLA and at Colorado.

BYU dominated U by 12 points, but it could very easily have been 20, since BYU led by 16 in the final minute.

It's laughable how Utah fans are crowing about a home win versus a lowly mid-major from the 20th ranked conference, when those same Utah fans would have scoffed at a BYU home win over the same team less than a month ago.

Irony is when this comment is amongst three angst filled little red engine comments vs a single anti-PAC comment from four total comments to this point.

Don't you guys have a mighty PAC-12 team to follow in the big dance? Or was Lawrence wet behind the ears when he gave the whiny Rodney Dangerfield respect speech?

BYU already proved themselves by dominating the #3 team in the PAC 12.

It’s laughable that you think that BYU should have to accomplish something you haven’t proven you could do - beat Stanford on the road - in order to “prove” themselves.

Boris- some years are better or worse than others. Last year the PAC12 was 10-4 in the big dance. Did you forget? I admit, the Conference of Champions needs to step it up, especially in the big 2 revenue sports!

    @Mr. Boris

Sorry...BYU-P will have to be able to beat the 5th place team in the PAC12 before you can claim to deserve their spot in the tournament.

It's funny how you call the PAC12 overrated. And yet you and everyone associated with your "university" would give their left arm to be in it.

The pac 12 is 5-0 in the NIT. I've been told that the pac 12 is superior to everyone in the west and supposedly a p5 conference. Congratulations on dominating the consolation tournament.

Meanwhile the MWC is 2-1 in the real tourney and the WCC is 2-0 in the real tourney.

I'm thinking maybe next year the MWC and the WCC ought to get three teams in the NCAA instead of the overrated pac 12.

The pac 12 is just another one bid league in the west like the WAC and Big West.
