Hope it is not too presumptuous or sinful to wish to go along on the world tour
with Pres. Nelson and Elder Holland... that being not likely, I will await their
return with anticipation for their report. As regarding comments
about GA's calling out Senator Hatch, I have seen for a long time the need
for them to call out all men who behave in un-Christ-like ways in their everyday
jobs and workplace. Too often I see eulogized men who set very bad examples of
what a Saint should be in the workplace, then serve as leaders in the Church of
Jesus Christ, as if its okay to compartmentalize or separate behavior at work
with that exhibited on Sunday.
Correct...politics and the Church can't mix, except for those times that
the Brethren need to set the record straight on what the church does and
doesn't stand for.
Selznik,It would be opening up an epic can of worms.Do
you get the notion of a world wide church? So do they condemn state insurance,
which is found in many locations or promote it for our location?Do
they make a political stand on something that has no direct moral bearing? Is it their job to call Orrin Hatch out publicly?I think
church PR is wisely not going to comment - nor should they.
It would be a great example of inspired leadership if the General Authorities
would call into question the disrespectful language Senator Hatch used regarding
people who honestly support Obamacare, as quoted elsewhere in this website.
