I agree. I don't think it was malicious - it was just exciting for the fans to see them perform so well. And if you argue that chanting "air ball" is beyond the norm then perhaps you haven't seen any other college basketball games around the county.

You can feel bad for some of these small gyms filled with BYU fans, though technically it's good for the home program. Someone has to buy the tickets.

That is sports, I'm glad they chanted 'BYU' what are they suppose to chant? It's not a church meeting for crying out loud.

    CO Ute

"Gushing about the level of play from the posters is typical."

Utah fan whining about BYU fans gushing about a 34-point win,

just before Utah extended their losing streak to 4 with a 17-point loss.

I'd rather gush about a blowout win,

than moan about being 0 for 2018.

Happy Birthday (yesterday) Yoeli! Nice dominating win by our Cougars, which is how it should be against a team like that with the talent we have.

I will gladly gush about this game. If you saw the game CO-Ute you would too if being objective. Keep it up Cougars. Next year will be good but it starts with each remaining game from now on. BTW, the best team in the State of Utah.

Childs has a real chance to make and stay in the NBA. This guy is legit.

Happy Birthday Yoele Child. Would of been better if we had played agasint SMC instead. Keep it up Cougars.

Umm ... Santa Clara is ranked about #300 nationally. This is a game BYU should win easily and they did. Gushing about the level of play from the posters is typical.

Biggest negative was the visiting fans chanting "BYU, BYU" in that very small gym with a 30 point lead. Very irritating to the home team and sounded too much "in your face".

Reminiscent of BYU student section shouting "air ball, air ball".

I know the effect because I have been in that gym and witnessed the response of others in similar conditions.

No need to "rub it in". Unfortunately, such actions reflect on sportsmanship. Yes, I am a BYU fan. We can do better.

The men's game was on BYU TV. Why couldn't you get it?

This is the beauty of BYU sports these days - it is rare that you cannot watch major sports on TV. Even minor sports and Women's sports get great TV coverage.

This was the most unselfish, team oriented game I have seen BYU play in years (maybe ever!). In a team setting, even Haws came through. In fact, I am not going to be able to criticize Haws if he continues to play like he did last night. It was refreshing to see a team care more about helping the team, and not padding their own stat sheet. Seljius scored, Worthington scored, even some reserves scored. And the defense was equally played as a team. Any time you can dominate another team on their own floor, it is great.

Incidentally, did anyone notice the balcony show during every BYU foul shot? It was over the top.

As great a game as I've seen them played both offensively and defensively. Hope they can keep that up. They would've been undefeated in conference play at this point if they had played like that every game, especially against Pacific.

    Go Cougars!!!

Bad day for Santa Clara. Men's team and Women's team whacking them on the same day. Couldn't get the men's game - watched the ladies. Very fun - they have some shooters. Very different game, of course, but those girls can shoot! And they're much cuter than the guys!
