Best of luck to Jeff Grimes and family and to the Cougars in the coming years. They sound like a family who will be a great addition to the BYU community.

The most famous and successful non-member BYU Assistant was Mike Holmgren. QB coach at BYU for Steve Young and for Robbie Boscoe and the 1984 National Champions, QB Coach or OC for two 49er Super Bowl wins, Head Coach for 2 Super Bowl teams at Green Bay, 1 champion, Head Coach taking the Seahawks to the Super Bowl.

So, this could turn out well. Let’s hope so.

Seldom if ever does enough due credit go to the person who makes "it" happen...

Especially when that person has to move often as a result of her husbands vocation.

Mrs. Grimes has done a wonderful job with her family.

Kudos to Mrs. Grimes and to all Mom's who keep families... keeping on.

No matter what the long-term outcome here, we will just have to enjoy the moment with him as the new OC. The best of luck to him and his family. Way unfortunate that Detmer didn't pan out as expected. The best of luck to Detmer and his family too.

this is a nice story, and i wish the best for grimes and his family. that said, the rush to adopt people from other nations always surprises me, as there are so many children in america who need to be adopted. that includes children of various ethnicity.

You disappoint, I thought you were above regurtitating cliches and fostering censorship.

What a wonderful way to start with BYU, a family story. Welcome, Grimes family to Cougar Nation.
I am sorry but the dog's expression just doesn't fit in the the happy family :)

A non mormon who likely took a pay cut to come to BYU and coach who is coming from an SEC school and already making over a half a million a year. Maybe BYU isn't such a hard place to recruit to after all.

Impressive story, here's hoping the Grimes' family story goes well in Utah and Jeff is able to make a big difference for BYU football.

BYU fan here - very happy about our new offensive coordinator, Jeff Grimes!. I hope he is able to do the things that Ty Detmer strived to do but unfortunately wasn't able to accomplish during his limited time in that position.

    Go Cougs!

This story touches all the feel good buttons and links the new OC to so Mormon guru's of football. But then so did the previous OC.
