I don’t know how nafta could be fixed and I do t think trump is the one to do it. He insults everyone and then expects them to play ball.

Past mismanagement has led to a national debt equal to eight hundred thousand dollars for every second of a year. Many politicians have profited from this while the public has suffered.

This country is healing and weak decisions of the past is being reversed.

    Thank you Donald Trump!

    Hey Thid Barker -

Re: " President Trump is right about NAFTA, it needs to be fixed!"

Government is often an iterative process. Things that don't work get fixed
. . . As long as government functions correctly.

Sadly, when Republicans are in power, the government does NOT work correctly.

Why do YOU think Vladimir Putin helps Republicans win elections here?

    It's Trump's show now.

Hopefully we can make repairs after he's gone.

With no EPA or environmental controls, business has flocked to Mexico.

You would think with global warming, the liberals would want it stopped.

And why is safeway charging me $1 for an avocado?

Trump made no bones about it before the election, and yet he's our man.

"NAFTA is the worst trade deal maybe ever signed anywhere, but certainly ever signed in this country . . . " - Donald J Trump

But Donald J Trump and his supporters are wrong, as usual.

Donald (grab 'em by the wherever) Trump lies or misleads an average of 5 times a day.

Trump is the moral and political leader of the Republican Party.

BTW, why do you think America's Russian enemies help Republicans win elections here?

Does Vladimir Putin want to strengthen America? . . . Or weaken us?

A Mexican friend explained it to me. Javier used to grow avocados in Mexico. His family grew them for generations. The locals paid 5 cents each for them.

Then came NAFTA and Safeway would pay Javier 10 cents for every avocado he could grow.

Now the locals pay 100% more for their avocados from Javier.

Worse yet, Javier's workers went to California to harvest their avocados and he has a labor shortage.

As it turns out, Mexico is competing with itself here.

The trouble with NAFTA is that we buy too much from other countries and they buy too little from us; thus record imports lifted the U.S. trade deficit to $48.7 billion in October, the highest since January 2017. President Trump is right about NAFTA, it needs to be fixed!

Trump is an archaist, playing off the fears and hopes of the mis-informed, angry electorate. In this case many of the same people who bought into his hyperbole will be the ones likely to suffer. We reap what we've sown.

Well, "own self interests" is what is destroying this country. A strong GNP benefits all. NAFTA has proven to be detrimental for the Countries economy and jobs as a whole. Knowledgeable folks understand this easily.

I believe in NAFTA. It was the right thing to do. But when you talk about modernization, I don't know what you are talking about. What proposals to change it? Until we know, can we make any judgments? Will it be treated like the tax bill, developed in secrecy and rolled out at the last minute with no opportunity to look at it and debate the changes? I'm sorry, I have no confidence in Trump and the Republicans to get it right.

Thank you, authors. Some of us understand this easily.
But if you are trying to convince Utahns in general, and rural Utahns in particular, you have a very long row to hoe, for we all know the consistency in which so many Utahns vote AGAINST their own self interests.
I support you and wish you good look considering the current Administration.
