RE: KevinSim. Holy *Ghost or Holy *Spirit same Greek word pneuma.

Overshadow is a reference to God’s glorious presence at work . (Ex 40:34-35) “Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the LORD(YHWH) filled the tabernacle. Moses was not able to enter the tent of meeting because the cloud had settled on it, and the glory of the LORD(YHWH) filled the tabernacle.

The Protoevangelium. Gen 3:15, ”the seed of the woman is a man”, and yet in Roman's 16:20 he is called the God of peace, which identifies him as the Lord Jesus Christ. The reference to the seed of the woman as Christ is to related to the Virgin birth of the Messiah, as well as the Hypostatic union of the Divine nature with the Human nature of Christ.

when the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son , ’Made of a Woman…”Gal 4:4).E .g….

The early Church fathers, such as Justin Martyr (160 AD) and Irenaeus (180 AD) regarded this verse "as the Protoevangelium, the first messianic prophecy in the O. T. "E.g.. "For our GOD, Jesus the Christ, was conceived in the womb by Mary according to a dispensation, of the seed of David but also of the Holy Ghost" Ignatius (died 117 AD).

Well, we ARE talking about the LDS Church, so I've got to ask you, Metamoracoug, was that a Freudian slip? Or did you mean to say "woman"?

So you would advocate another way to eliminate world poverty that also does nothing? No thanks. Your approach is for the government to just print more money and pay for the basics of those in poverty with that money, all the time waving your hands about how government can somehow cap inflation to prevent an economic disaster. Why should any of us have any confidence that that plan will work?

CMTM, as I've pointed out in other posts; there's a difference between being one's mother being overshadowed by the Holy Ghost, conceiving by the power of the Holy Ghost, and the Holy Spirit coming on one's mother; and being begotten of the Holy Ghost. Jesus never claimed to be have been begotten by the Holy Ghost; He claimed to have been begotten by God the Father.

Let me echo Nephiwon. The LDS Church is indeed run by God Almighty.

None of us can solve a lot of the world's problems, but each of us can contribute in a small way. When more people contribute in small ways (and there are those among us who can contribute in large ways), then the ripple effect has greater force. There is no doubt in my mind that such efforts as described in the article and what our Heavenly Father wants to happen.

Jeje - Centerville, UT, you wrote, “Ssev - Really? Did you read the story? … The LDS church gives so much in the way of humanitarian aid . ... Ssev, What are you personally doing to help lift others that are homeless and hungry?”

I simply proposed that my LDS friends and family join me in support of the only plan that would eliminate world poverty.

NeilT - Ogden, UT, you wrote: “ssev. The solution to poverty is righteous living and paying tithing. What has righteous living and pathing tithing done to eliminate world poverty? Nothing. Billions today need a “lift … out of poverty." A righteous government would provide the basics for human survival to its citizens. A righteous religion would demand it.

Heard the Carley's story straight from the horses mouth at stake conference a few weeks ago. What a wonderful story. To respond to ssev: My parents joined the LDS faith in 1952 in Brainerd MN. I can tell you my life is much better because of their choice for having a healthy body because my mother quite smoking before conceiving me, to saiving my parents marriage, to a graduate degree from a church school, to marriage to an amazing, wonderful, intelligent (PhD) women. Maybe not everyone's life is better because they join the Mormon Church, but mine certainly is.

Ssev - Really? Did you read the story? This famly's life was changed in a positive way because of another person. The LDS church gives so much in the way of humanitarian aid, not to mention the LDS helping hands that go about doing good in times of need. And, maybe you have not heard of the LDS church's program I Was A Stranger to help refugees worldwide. Just to name a few.

ssev. The solution to poverty is righteous living and paying tithing. The church does a lot to lift people out of poverty including a college scholarship program for members in third world countries, a welfare program that is based on self reliance, an online education program called pathways, humanitarian aid and church service missionaries. The government does not.owe people a living. The government owes people political and economic freedom. As Ezra Taft Benson said " Christ takes the slum out of people and then people take themselves out of the slum". Christ is the light and life of the world. Happy Thanksgiving.

With so much evil being discovered and reported daily among people in Hollywood, Congress, sports, and elsewhere, how refreshing to be renewed with the goodness of the Savior and His plan and remember the real meaning of life and why we are here.

Thank you for this beautiful message. We are the ones who will Light the World as we spread the Gospel to those who hunger and thirst for it. We are the ones who can spread hope, love, and service to our brothers and sisters, neighbors and friends around us.

Merry Christmas as we Light the World with Christ's love through us!

“Last Christmas, the #LightTheWorld campaign flooded social media in hopes of inspiring love and brotherly kindness. This year, the LDS Church has chosen to #LightTheWorld once again. …"

Aside from the motivation to proselyte others with respect to the Mormon religion, my concern is that this campaign does little to bring light to a world full of hungry, homeless, and sick and afflicted human being born into or caught up by poverty. The Light the World Campaign reminds me of CNN’s attempt to address slavery and human trafficking by having people make paper airplanes, a feel-good campaign to help "end" slavery.

The real intent of that campaign was to help the 99% feel good that they are trying to help solve slavery, when it has nothing to do with them.

    Here was the campaign:

    #FlyToFreedom
    1) Make a paper plane.
    2) Write a pledge on the plane – something you’re going to do to help fight modern slavery.
    3) Show us your plane and pledge on social media using the hashtag #FlyToFreedom.
    4) Nominate two friends to do the same by tagging them in your social media post.

    Really???
