"By difintion[sic] any 6-6 PAC-12 team in a bowl is MORE nationally relevant than #111 BYU playing at #142 Hawaii."

    By whose definition?

The only fans who will care about either game (assuming Utah actually qualifies for a bowl), are fans of the teams involved.

That's certainly not nationally relevant in anybody's book.

"No, it's not about disrespect its about TV programming."

    You're only fooling yourself.

Broadcasters schedule late night games for the PAC 12, for the exact same reason as they schedule late night games for BYU - PROGRAMMING.

    -----

Which is what I said. The difference, PAC-12 After Dark isn't on ESPN Ocho like BYU.

Bronco was hired to breathe some life back into the Virginia football program.

Trying to equate a first-year head coach that is still cleaning up the mess left by the previous coaching staff,

with a coach who has been on Utah's staff for over 20 years (13 as head coach),

is something only a desperate Utah fan would do.

    ------

Is that why Whit was your first choice?

As a G5 coach, Whitt had the highest winning percetage vs P5 over 70%, while Bronco was 42%.

Bronco was 2-10 in season one as P5 coach, Whitt was 8-4 #4 and never worse than 5-7. Today, 5-5 Whit is #44 and 6-4 Bronco is #73.

In 13 years, Whit was named COY in 2008, 6 top 25, beat 11 ranked teams, 18 CFP, proven abilty o develop NFL talent (8 picks 2017).

Over same period, Bronco 3 top 25, beat 3 top 25, 0 BCS, 0 CFP, 8 draft picks.

    Nice dodge, try again:

IF Utah does qualify for a bowl, Utah's bowl game won't be anymore meaningful, on a national scale, than BYU's final game in Hawaii.

It'll be just another game between two bad teams.

    Wrong!

By difintion any 6-6 PAC-12 team in a bowl is MORE nationally relevant than #111 BYU playing at #142 Hawaii.

BYU isn't a bad team, you are a national joke getting blown out by 2-8 ECU.

"Winning 6 games and earning 2 more weeks of practices in bowl season is MORE meaningful then sitting on couch and waiting for Spring Football."

That doesn't mean Utah's bowl game will be meaningful to anybody besides fans of Utah and their bowl opponent.

The 8:00 kickoff is a deterrent to fans actually wanting to sit in the seats. The other big problem is the length of the game due to all the time outs. Casual fans would rather stay at home.

College football broadcasts start in the east and move steadily west throughout the day.

Arrogant Utah fans who were claiming that BYU wasn't playing prime time games because the broadcasters didn't respect BYU, are now having to eat a lot of crow now that Utah games have been moved to late starts.

IF Utah does qualify for a bowl, how "meaningful" will that game be?

The truth is, it won't be anymore meaningful, on a national scale, than BYU's final game in Hawaii.

Frankly, Hawaii sounds a lot more exciting for a final game, than El Paso.

@Uteology- "Yes, just like how USC played last week in the "PAC-12 After Dark" game. Or Washington, or Stanford..."

Sounds like just another whiny excuse from the hill.

When BYU plays late night games, it's a sign of disrespect by the broadcasters.

    -------

Excuse? No, the PAC-12 After Dark is a sacrifice I am willing to make being in P12.

No, it's not about disrespect its about TV programming. The disrespect is the fact that no one wants BYU in thier league.

Dude, you make it sound like BYU fans are going to drive to Hawaii. Too funny. Playing in Hawaii, in a meaningless regular season game, and only losing to Utah by 6 has become bragging rights.

Personally I really enjoy the late games as they start at 7:00 PM here. Usually there's not a lot of other good games to watch at that time; especially by the 2nd half.

When Utah plays late night games, it's just being one of the big boys...

or, maybe, it's a sign of disrespect by the broadcasters of the entire PAC 12 conference.

    hmmmmm...

The PAC 12 late night games are awesome. The only negative is that many in the eastern time zones are already in bet by the time the games start. The PAC 12 has a great brand of football and I for one love these later games.
