    Thank you for remembering this great man as we remember all veterans, especially those who gave all.

    Every death in war is tragic, but this one is more so. Historical records clearly show the Armistice was ready to be signed days before, only to be held by so-called leaders on both sides. This was done merely for the dramatic flourish of 'the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month'.

    In years past I knew a lot of the folks in Scipio, and am proud of them for keeping the memorial maintained.
