    Classic art is not meant to be an historical photograph, a depiction of reality. I think the artists understood this. It is symbolic and the style is meant to elevate the subject from this earth life level to a higher plane for the audience it was intended for.

    They had some different ideas of what Jewish people in bronze age Palestine would have looked like back in the reformation era, didn't they?
