16 years later, circumstances much different for BYU-Mississippi State matchup

Been a while ago so I looked up a little history on 2001. In the Holy War that year, Utah led most of the game and went up by 11 with about 10 minutes to go. BYU scored with about 4 minutes left, forced a 3 and out, then scored quickly to win the game. That gave them 3 wins over Utah in 4 years. Since that game, BYU earned only 3 more wins in the next 15 contests.

The Cougars next game was a huge loss at Hawaii and then they were solidly defeated by Louisville in the Liberty Bowl. The two P5 teams BYU beat each finished in last place in the conference and they didn't play any ranked teams until the bowl game.

Funny how some things have changed since 2001 and other things have stayed the same.
