I know several people who have contracted flu after having the 'flu shot'. We do not get the shots and do not get flu.

"The findings surprised Wisconsin researchers who had previously published studies that showed no association between the flu shot and pregnancy. And they're worrying health officials, who fear some pregnant women will just read the headlines and not look more deeply into the research."

It's a good thing the DesNews isn't perpetuating this potential problem.

Get vaccinated! Influenza has been shown to kill pregnant mothers, children, and the elderly. The vaccine will protect you, and those around you.

As for this study, correlation does not imply causation. In the study's own words: "This study does not and cannot establish a causal relationship between repeated influenza vaccination and [miscarriage]".

Reporting on a study with such limitations is likely to cause more fear, alarm, and harm than good. NPR should not have broadcast this misleading work.
