    I wonder what is being said in Portland, after their first game?

    And, if $450k is a bit above average for an FCS opponent, what would $525,000 be... The Gold Standard?

    North Dakota get's $450K for this game. It goes a long ways in supporting their football program. Good for them.

    ute alumni: "this won't be all that close a Utah will go down to defeat. whittingham needs to quit getting these tough preseason games scheduled."

    Actually, there is no "pre-season" games in college FB, just pre-conference. But you're excused, because that's something you're not familiar with.

    @ute alumni

    You must be right. It would be better to schedule the likes of Portland State, UNLV, Fresno State, UMass, Hawaii, etc. Oh well, there is something to be said for scheduling a tough schedule the entire year, not just the first part of the season.

    ND will give Utah all it can handle. This will be a very tough game.

    Utah does a good job not overlooking opponents, and they aren't going to start on Thursday. Utah will make some mistakes, but I still think they will handily beat ND. Looking forward to Thursday.

    Utes by fourteen. Too much defense for this team. Looking forward to watching the new offense. I think it'll take a year to really get fine-tuned, but it should be good enough this year to put the Utes in a favorable position come the end of the season. Pipes said it all...if the U plays the way my team played last Saturday it could be a contest. And is a close game, any thing can upset the cart. Actually, I think it will be more than 14 points in Utah's favor.

    UND won comfortably at Wyoming two years ago, and was a failed 2 pt conversion from making it two in a row last year. This is a very scary team. They are predicted to be better than last year.

    Hopefully the utes play better than the Cougars did last week...

    I don't see this game as a gimmie by any mean's. I know Eastern Washington beat WSU last year to open the season and played Washington tight the year (opener) before. This team is right up there with EWU. Utah needs to take control early and come to play. Looking forward to watching the offense and getting this season underway. Go Utes!
