Where are the billionaires that do not need to raise funds and have a TV show?
Why is money the defining thing about a candidates fitness for the job? I am
much more interested in what the candidate wants to do to make our state a
better place and how they plan to achieve their goals.
$$$$$$$$$...Nuff said.2 questions for the three
re-Publicans...Will you throw your daughter (child etc.) under the
bus of your political aspirations as a result of political flip-flopping?When you decide to bug out before your term is done, will you cough up
the $675,000 it takes to name your successor?
Curtis, the mayor of Provo, is getting large sums of money from the crony
capitalists that feed on Taxpayer money. Shocker
The caucus-convention system involves voters who are more committed to the GOP
platform, including the Constitution. They are more educated on the issues--as
opposed to voters who just sign petitions or make a choice based on who has the
most signs or other superficial aspect.Politicians who actually have
the ability and courage to stick to reasonable campaign promises are difficult
to find. Chris Herrod and Mike Lee are the only ones I still trust.
It would appear that the skilful pure politician has the lead, but I am fearful
of promulgating the "swamp" with this one. knowing Tanner Ainge to be
conservative, realistic, strong intellect, and high moral character, It is
highly recommended to send a non politician to congress. He certainly gets the
vote of me, my family, and any one else I can sway.
We currently have Republicans at the helm in D.C, and they are are talking
fighting to secure hundreds of billions in tax payer funded spending. It truly is time to have a Libertarian in office. Someone who is not beholden
to the deplorable status quo. There is not a 'Mike Lee' or
'Ron Paul' rising from these Republicans. Therefore we must consider
the Libertarian in the race. His debate performance showed that he understands
both the fiscal issues, but the social ones as well.Would love to
see an article about the grassroots donations Joe Buchman has been getting as
well as his position on everything from Bears Eras to Medicinal Marijuana. Please prove that good journalism is about seeking the whole story, not
the old story by including him in your coverage and polls. We are fed up with
the tired campaign promises dovetailing into hundreds of billions in waste in a
currently Republican led government.
As a registered Republican I think I have to go with Curtis on this one!
The Democrats know they don't have a snowball's chance of electing
Allen. So they hedge their bets by switching voting preference to vote in the
primary and bankroll the most liberal of the three.
Herrod believes that having the bulk of his donations coming from out-of-state
political organizations and getting on the ballot via the caucus-based
convention rather than voter signatures makes his campaign a
"grass-roots" campaign? Wouldn't it be the opposite? Talk about
spin - he's definitely cut out to be a politician.
Ainge and Herrod are whistling past the graveyard on this one. Even if they get
the undecided vote at three percentage points apiece to Curtis' one, Curtis
still wins. When you add to that the fact that Curtis has more cash, that he
gets more cash in Utah, percentage-wise, you begin to see the writing on the
wall. I think that even if either Ainge or Herrod dropped out and endorsed the
other that Curtis would still win going away. My guess is that the next polling
that comes out will show that Curtis is gaining a majority of the undecided
voters and that by election day the only question will be "will John Curtis
get a majority?" He just might.
Chris Herrod is the only proven conservative in this race. His record speaks a
lot louder to me than how much money he has. The other candidates'
campaign strategies are about making the election some kind of popularity
contest because they can't run on their own record.
