Could this demographic be the reason why the remake of "Saturday's Warrior" was a flop?

It was greeted far differently today than it was in the 60s.

What to expect when nobody's expecting you to get married?
Count on one of the members of the past Relief Society General Presidency stating in a video podcast (march 2017) that more than half, fifty percent to be exact, of women in the church are single for various reasons.

Q: What to expect when you are not expecting?

    A: The empty set.

No I'm not a math major, but I have taken a fair amount of math classes.

And I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express

You didn't mention a much more obvious reason: the cost of housing. A little one bedroom apartment might seem romantic to newlyweds, but the prospect of adding a toddler to it is somewhat less so. And so childbearing gets put off. And unless one spouse has an unusually lucrative job, it takes two salaries to afford the payments on a 1100 square foot three bedroom house, let alone something bigger. Child care is a killer expense--the bride's mother is not home pregnant, she's working also, and the groom's mother lives two states away.
