The best quotes, thoughts, words to inspire actually can be found in the Book of Mormon, in the scriptures, and the words of the Prophets and Apostles. Marvin J. Ashton of the 12, said, (Apr. 28, 1989 commencement address):

"it has been accurately and wisely observed that man has two creators: his God, and himself. In your quest to improve yourself what will you do?" And then he suggested, extend your learning, including studying the scriptures, and the words of Apostles and Prophets.

In another address, Jan. 21, 1976 he said,
"What we do with what happens to us is more important than what happens to us. The direction in which we are moving is more important than place or situation. We may have stumbled or been grievously hurt, but we have not fallen if we are willing to get back up."

Elder Ashton was remarkable in his genuine love for and concern for the youth of the Church. I've met a few Apostles, none from which emanated Christ-like love more than Elder Ashton.
