    @JBs:
"Trump isn't just ignoring the Russian threat..."

    What Russian threat?

"...he is furthering it by his continued praise and support of Putin."

He isn't praising Putin. He's trying to delelop a friendship so our two nations can work together to defeat ISIS (ISIL per Barack Hussein Obama).

"It is just amazing that he is acting in such a clueless and irresponsible manner."

You mean like, psst... "I'll have more flexibility after my re-election." Obama whispering to Russia's then President, Dmitry Medvedev... caught by an open mike.

    Let's see...

FBI Director James Comey would not recommend legal action against Hillary for putting classified information on a private sever in violation of 18 US Code 793, et al., because she had no intentions (per Comey) of harming the US Government by her actions...

But many are saying Trump needs to be impeached for being friends with the leader of a foreign country (Putin) even though the friendship had no intention of harming the US Government with his friendship.

    Go figure.

It's not a question anymore whether or not the Russians meddled in the last election. All of the major intelligence agencies have the proof that the Russians hacked into computers of both campaigns, but they only stole information from Democratic campaign computers to publish a number of embarrassing e-mails, and also for good measure started a number of entirely false, negative stories about Hilary Clinton on Facebook and elsewhere.

There is hard evidence of close financial relationships between people associated with Mr. Trump's campaign and Russian oligarchs who enjoy the favor of Vladimir Putin. Where all of that information leads is what the current investigations in Congress and now a special prosecutor is all about.

But it's not hard to imagine how past US presidents would have responded to this situation because they had to deal with Russia's hostile actions for decades. Mr. Trump's reaction is completely different and has been entirely self-focused and self defensive--no concern for the country at all.

Do I need to say this: if there's nothing to hide and there's a threat to the nation, why all the stonewalling?

"re-read my posts and tell me where I offer support for trump".

You may choose to play semantics. However, when one uses nearly the identical verbiage as the "President" in their daily anti-liberal/First Amendment rants this clearly indicates support to those of us outside the bubble!

"As for BO and clinton, why was it not a problem for you that they ignored or mishandled foreign threats"?

Fake news anyone? Simple. This never happened! Continued deflection. Currently neither are President.

"Those other sources you accuse me of believing, I do not subscribe to, read, follow".

In typical extremist faction you are fooling no one but yourself comrade! You have cited these sources numerous times.

"Obstruction of justice – hilary’s emails were all provided, then they found more, then that was it, then they found more. eric holder? lois lerner? the number BO operatives who have pled the 5th? Isn’t/wasn’t that obstruction"?

Suggestion. Obtain a law degree! Better yet. Possibly set through any basic undergraduate level law class. One of the first skills you possibly may obtain is proper comparison and the ability to spot fake news. Keep digging comrade! #Countryfirst

RE: "President Trump ignores the Russian threat at our peril"

Face it folks, the Russians and the Republicans are on the SAME side, united AGAINST America.

Trump and other Republicans won office with the help of Russia, our nation's "greatest geopolitical foe."

They share a common cause. They are united AGAINST America.

With Republicans in power, our nation grows weaker, and Putin smiles.

Europe and the US are not the enemies of Russia. Putin' s dangers are China and Islam to the south. Russia has a GDP hardly larger than Mexico. It is not going to dominate the world. It is nearly twice the area of the U S, but a lot of it is not useful. Transportation east and west is only by train. Russia needs us to protect them from China. Islam is now invading Europe. Turmp wants to work with Russia not fight them. We can unite against ISIS.

Yes, Mike, where are those liberals who are still rioting and still burning our flag?
    No, seriously, where are they?

And what a threat to America they are! They are far more dangerous to our country than a hostile foreign power interfering with our electoral process. Liberals with their protest signs! Arrrgh!

Mitt Romney stated Russia was a threat, and Obama laughed it off, stating the cold war is over.

It seems Obama ignored the threat, and not Trump. Hillary ignored the threat also by bargaining away our uranium.

So what's the deal with Trump? Does the media rule our country, and maybe Obama was a puppet in their hand? They can't manipulate Trump like they did with Obama, and Hillary?

Is Trump a threat to the media, and their dealings? Media is for reporting news, and not setting policy.

The Chinese are the most dangerous threat to America.

    =======

Not according to my DoD annual briefing.

China hacks the U.S. 12,000 daily - but the U.S. remains their #1 exporter -- so they get a free pass [wink, wink] as our enemy.

Russia is a viable military threat, but we do not have the trade deficit with them, nor do we depend on our food, clothing and shelter from Russia like we do with China.

BTW -- ISRAEL is America's #1 espionage threat - and they are good at it. The DoD refers to Israel as our closest friendenemy.

  • Mike Richards South Jordan, Utah

Rioting Democrats who loot and burn are telling us that the gravest threat to America are the Russians. Are they nuts? Did the Russians build the NSA facility in Bluffdale? Do the Russians listen to our cell phone calls and intercept our email? Was it the Russians who refused to allow the FBI to examine DNC computers after the DNC claimed that Russia had breached those computers?

Those liberals who are still rioting, who are still burning our flag, who are using their positions as tenured liberal professors to call for death and destruction are the only threat that America need fear.

The Presidential Oath requires the President to protect us from all enemies foreign or domestic.

Our greatest enemies are already inside America. Their siren song to the gulible would have us believe that it is Russia and not themselves who is our enemy.

I appreciate your comment. I overstated myself.

Actually currently there is as much evidence that Seth Rich gave emails to WikiLeaks as there is that Trump colluded with Russia to steal the election. I have to give you some credit. Most liberal leaners have never even heard of Seth Rich (former DNC staffer gunned-down in DC last year).

Both the alleged Trump-Russia collusion and the allleged Seth Rich-WikiLeaks connection are still being investigated. Not enough information on either yet. With both of these allegations, there is either no evidence whatsoever, or someone is withholding evidence. I'll just stay tuned and try not to pre-judge.

Nobody has heard about this except folks who peruse right-wing conspiracy websites. Why? Because THIS is actually the fake news. The family has denied that there is any evidence that Rich was in contact with Wikileaks. Rod Wheeler (private investigator and FoxNews Contributor-the originator of the story,) says he was quoting a Foxnews story. When Foxnews was asked who their source was, they said it was Rod Wheeler.

That story has been already debunked. Vermonter, your skepticism is warranted, but laughably misplaced.

An interesting article today on MSN about the looming crisis of whom to believe. The White House or everyone else.

At some point there will be verifiable evidence to answer the question and the Comey memo may be it.

There is a ton of anecdotal evidence that all ready casts doubt on anything Trump claims. It's verifiable that nearly 75% of what Trump said on the campaign trail was false. It's verifiable daily that the White House staff has no idea what the truth is or the latest truth is. It's easily verifiable that Trump lied about crowds, election numbers, election process, and highly reasonable to believe he lied about the Obama taping.

Yea, someday it all will be open, but for now Trump has a lot to prove.

I think President Trump recognizes the real threat of Russia, Iran, North Korea, and others around the world 100 times more than his predecessor. You won't see him giving billions of $$ to Iran to further the cause of nuclear weapons and terrorism!

The Chinese are the most dangerous threat to America.

Take a look at California pushing for Communists to be able to hold office.

What country is still Communist and would love the idea of that happening?

What country is buying up Hollywood and owns major stakes in business and real estate in the US and Canada?

Which country did the President single out as someone he would attack on trade and has since had everything thrown at him?

Mormons are being tricked by the Media who has an alternate agenda.

I will make this simple for Mormons who read this.

What country allows active proselyting? What country does not?

Putin is the EU's most dangerous threat, not ours.

There is almost nothing in this article with which I would agree. My time at BYU was finished long before this puppy was born. I watched the news carefully and find that Mr Trump did a very creditable job in his meeting with the Russians. There were three experts who were with him during his meeting who carefully observed his interactions and approved whole heartedly. Two are military experts with long experience in dealing with adversaries, understand security issues and rules, and the other also very long on real world experience as a civilian. None of them, including President Trump, think of The Russians as our busom buddies, but they recognize that we must deal with common problems. This requires conversation, and some kind of exchange of ideas. Mr. Trump has selected excellant advisors who do not always agree with him, as an intelligent leader should. I do not believe mr. Davis has comparable knowlege or real world experience to even begin to critique our leadership

Odds are 50/50 that the French President elect was lying to get elected. After Brexit and Trump the Left is in panic mode.

Comey deserved to be fired. The Justice Department had no interest in conducting a criminal investigation of Hillary Clinton. "They would never approve a grand jury and they would never approve an indictment.”

Comey went through the action, granted immunity deals, conducted an interview of Clinton not under oath. The document dump the day after the Fourth of July, and the FBI deviated from standard-operating procedure investigating use of private servers to send and receive classified material.

Ex-FBI head Kallstrom maintains, “He was so out of left field—the things he did.” The FBI

Unfortunately, commentary from the Democrats on this issue will only melt into the constant wash of over-the-top crisis-mongering from the establishment left's elected officials and media front. On top of this, it is very hard to take Democrats' sudden concern for "the Russian threat" when they have had so little concern for it in the past going all the way back to the Soviet era.

But, we finally face a genuine problem with the Trump presidency, and it is indeed as Richard Davis has identified. The Left, however, has no credibility on this issue, and conservatives can rightly dismiss their showboat concern as merely partisan until they are willing to recant Obama's "the 1980's want their policies back" shtick or explain why they were silent on their own administration's willingness to go along with and be "flexible" for Putin on just about everything. It is conservatives who must, and will, stand up to this President if it becomes apparent that he cannot protect America's interests from a foreign power. Conservatives are the only ones who can do so on principle.

There is a difference between the East and the West. As the late Allen Sievers at the University of Utah put it "the East and the West are different, and neither can judge the other." I agree, but it is entirely appropriate for western nations to assess the motives of eastern ones. Russia has maintained its authoritarian and paranoid bent through Czarism, Communism, and its present version of Capitalism. Yes, Russia is very different from the West.

We do not understand much about the East. And Trump is especially ignorant of the East, and for that reason can be easily played by the Russians, the Turks, and the Chinese.

Putin plays Trump like a violin. Trump does not know what he does not know. This is dangerous territory in which we could lose our lives.
