1000 jobs will keep people in the area quiet. However there still needs to be investigations into this and other misdeeds by UTA but with jobs at hand I guess the people just cower. Kind of said what people will turn a blind eye to -- all about the money with little integrity.

UTA is basically tone-deaf when it comes to transparency issues.

The ONLY way UTA will ever get "fixed" is if they are put under control of UDOT (a natural fit), or if the whole mess is privatized.

The only problem with either of those scenarios is that well-heeled, and well-placed current or former legislators WON'T be in a position to make a lot of money on TRAX alignments, or placements.

Which, sadly, means taxpayers will need to continue to subsidize the shenanigans.

UTA, Continuing to operate behind the veil of secrecy.

""I don't know that any of the citizens here would understand any of that at this point. And we don't know enough about that yet," Sherrie Hall Everett, the board's vice chairwoman, said after the hearing."

So basically, we don't want to talk about it , but if we did, our low information taxpayers, that fund us, wouldn't understand it anyway.
UTA has been an incestuous, cesspool for years, enriching themselves and their cronies. There's a reason UTA is under Federal Investigation.

So, essentially due to conjecture and the political agenda of an existing UTA board member, we get an investigation wasting perfectly good tax dollars.

If there was any wrongdoing, it would be nice to have a hint of evidence as the article failed to provide any.
