Ok, mark it down, set it in concrete, and throw a couple of exclamations points in for good measure. The 2017 Ute football team will be a second-cousin to awesome. I am such a fan of Coach Whit that every year I expect the best from up North. The final piece to the total puzzle is now in place...an offensive coordinator. It may take a bit of time to iron it all out, but the offense will be able to hold up their end of the bar this season. I have not been this high on the Utes (looking at the next couple of seasons) since I slid down the rough side of Sagarmatha. One morning, many years ago, I skipped school and went out onto Puget Sound and caught 16 salmon, waving at the school bus as it trekked along the causeway at Redondo. The anticipation of the upcoming Ute season causes that special time to pale in comparison. The U fans will have reason to rock the stadium this year. It's going to make supercalifragilisticexpialidocious look like a two-letter pronoun, the Expendables look like the muppets and Thor look like Mickey Mouse. In the words of Old Blue Eyes, it will be looked back upon as 'a very good year'. Go Cougs, go Utes, go Aggies.

3rd comment in by a byU fan. why though? This is a very generic article, not sure what would attract the coug faithful
looking forward to the season and more in state domination by the team on the hill.

"every single team in the country has a lot to be excited about nowadays."

Untrue....There are plenty of teams that know their recruiting is subpar, for instance, & consequently know Ws will be hard to come by.

However, in Provo the belief is always that they're geared up for a 10+ win year, in spite of the fact their recruiting never ranks highly & they can never beat a good P5 opponent....Just look @ the collective overall record of the P5 opponents they beat last year....In fact, they haven't beat a finish ranked P5 opponent in 2 decades.

We'll be just fine, as evidenced by our recruiting/superior coaching....The only thing which could derail us, would be an extraordinary slew of injuries, beyond the outstanding overall depth we've developed.

@azute1 - every single team in the country has a lot to be excited about nowadays. Here's hoping they show up and play well. The key positions will be must haves this season.

Utes have been in the CFP ranking ever single week since it started. This is very impressive and will just continue on. Go Utes!

The level of talent being infused by newcomers this year is through the roof.

Experience/reps are all that's missing, particularly w/those arriving post Spring.

But assuming these kids follow suit & get up to speed quickly, we could very well win a ton of games this year....Lots to be excited about w/in our program nowadays!

    Go Utes!
