I noticed NC was attacked by liberals for passing a law that people use the bathroom matching your physical sex (offending the trans-gender population in NC). NBA pulled out a huge event, NCAA pulled some events and joined the protest, NFL made a rule that cities with laws like yours can't host the Super Bowl. How do you feel about that? It's got to be costing your city a ton in lost revenue from these big events.

What NC is experiencing for not going along with what the liberals in America want makes the extortion we experienced at the hands of the ODRC leaders look small in comparison.

It could be worse. We could be Charlotte. They are really suffering for not changing their laws and giving in to liberal's threats and boycotts. It's sad. The whole thing going on in NC. Both the law (it's not needed) and the knee-jerk reaction and economic extortion from the liberals out there. IMO.

I'm glad we got the NCAA Tournament this year. It may help make up for the ODRC Convention leaving in a tantrum over Trump winning and Utah politics.

I've noticed tons more people in the City Creak Mall and Temple Square compared to the week when the ODRC was in town. Maybe we don't need them so much after all.

We are going to get lots of out-of-town guests for the NBA playoff games this year too. That will help. It's been a long time since we had NBA playoff games in Utah.

But we still have conventions every week in the Salt Palace and the South Town Convention Center. I doubt the ODRC will be hugely missed, based on the # of people they drew to the malls and downtown restaurants when they were here, compared to the huge impact from the NCAA games in town.

Maybe the ODRC didn't bring many people to our city streets, malls and restaurants because it was when we had snow and cold weather. Weather couldn't be more perfect for the young and old people cruising our city while they wait for their NCAA Tournament game.

Comic Con next week... that will bring out an interesting crowd.

Outdoor Sports Convention in Sandy this week. Not missing ODRC yet.

Again... why the inferiority complex. No other paper is running stuff like this. The take away from this article is Salt Lake has got cheap seats because it has games no one cares about. How and why would you want to brag about that?

The thing is, having been to several of these in several cities, it really doesn't matter which town, or even who is playing. It is a really fun event regardless because every game counts ( unlike the NBA ), the players are playing for pride ( unlike the NBA where players play for millions ), and the fans are there just for the love of the game regardless. Highly recommended event.

Now we just got to get some Utah schools decent in basketball.... so locals get to play. But go.... it s a lot of fun.
