The bucket Cyr uses to carry Trump's water is full of holes. This is not a "public relations offensive" for the intelligence community. Merely them paying-the-piper for their pre-election expediency.

IC agencies, members of House and Senate, and major newspapers have had the full 30+ page dossier for months. David Corn/Mother Jones reported on its existence and allegations in late-October. CNN accurately reported that the IC agencies included a 2-page summary in the written materials shared with Obama and Trump. Buzzfeed then shared with the public the 30+ pages that Wash DC insiders of both parties have had for months.

The dossier suggests Russia has evidence of both its active collusion with the Trump campaign and the kinky hotel scene. If so, Russia has Watergate-in-a-Can and could destabilize the American government, at a time and under circumstances chosen by Russia...or the highest-bidder.

Briefing the current and next President of this risk now is a bare minimum CYA for the IC agencies.

They sat on these allegations, believing the projected Clinton victory would eliminate the thorny no-win political hazards they now must navigate.

"In future, the top spooks could help political campaigns to grow up and be discreet."

The intelligence agencies know far more about Trump and Putin than ever imagined. I hope they release it soon.
