It used to be quite a rivalry, but it died completely right after Utah joined the WAC.

They even continued to play yearly for 11 more seasons after Colorado left the Mountain States Conference in 1948 to join the Big 7, but they only played two more seasons (1962 and 1963) after Utah joined the WAC.

From 1943 to 1958, the Buffs owned the Utes 13-3-1 .

Utah won both games as a member of the WAC, then Colorado dropped the Utes from their schedule.

It used to be quite a rivalry. Utah had won 4 or 5 straight RMAC titles before All-American Byron "Whizzer" White played for Colorado. In the '80's, Supreme Court Justice White was speaking to the Utah Bar Association when he was rushed and struck in the face by some protestor. Resuming his speech after the assailant was subdued and led away, White commented he had been hit harder than that in Utah.
