this is a great trail to get in shape on. Beautiful views and just long enough
(1.5 mi). If you start early at 7am or hopefully earlier (6am) if they let you
it is cool and shaded. Three months before climbing Mt. Whitney I started doing
the timp cave trail to build up leg muscle -- by the end of the 3 months I could
run all the way to the top. Did wonders for me on Whitney. I saw lots of older
folks up there hiking too - great place to just walk and talk.
