I an a Trump fan. I am a Trump fan because I believe the other choice, Hillary Clinton would contribute to making Washington even more corrupt. I am 77 and I never thought that I would ever see corruption of this level in our nations capitol. And the corruption is equally divided between the two parties. One is not better than the other. Sad isn't it?

Trump has no path to victory.
If he hadn't crudely insulted every decent Republican, he may have had a fighting chance.
    Not now. It's over.

Gary Johnson's (and Libertarians) have the platform that closest conforms to the founders vision of slef governance and to the LDS principle of free agency. With many LDS candidates running for office in Utah AS Libertarians, I think there is prime opportunity to actually have a sane and liberty minded election.

Also, Gary and Bill will select from the best and brightest for their cabinet. So whether they be Libertarian, Republican, Democrat, or whatever, they will be selected based on the content of their character, not the partisan letter next to their name.

    It's called wisdom.

Mitt's getting ready for ski season at his Deer Valley luxury retreat -- leave the man alone! I wonder what cabinet position Glenn Beck would get in the Anderson administration? This is the beginning of silly time!

Trump has been endorsed by an Emeritus General Authority: Robert C. Oakes, who was also a 4 Star General.

"A Libertarian President Gary Johnson would surround himself with big-government establishment Republicans? (Weld, Romney...) So, what's the point of being a Libertarian?

Perhaps that strategy would win a few votes from the "Anybody but Clinton or Trump" voters - and apparently there are quite a few in Utah. But it's not very comforting to us fiscal conservatives who lean libertarian."

I have to imagine Johnson would be putting Romney in a spot that deals more with fiscal conservatism issues, not one that deals with social libertarian issues.

Question is how much of the vote will McMullin pull from Johnson

I'll vote for Gov. Johnson if he makes Mitt Romney president. Or I could just cut out the middle man and do a write-in for Romney.

Anti Bush-Obama, enough with this nonsense about "selling out to the establishment". This adversarial mindset towards party leadership is how we got Trump. Johnson is the best choice, bar none. Don't waste your vote by not casting it.

I can't imagine any position in a hypothetical Johnson administration for which Romney would be suited. I don't know that he has any foreign policy experience that would make him a good Secretary of State, or any military experience that would make him qualified for Secretary of Defense. His business experience might qualify him for Secretary of Commerce or the Treasury, but Johnson's anti-subsidy, anti-Federal Reserve, pro-sound money and pro-Austrian economics views would be at odds with Romney's ideology. Maybe an ambassador of some kind, I guess.

This just proved that Gary Johnson has sold out to the establishment. This is the worst election cycle inthe History of the country. I am staying home in November.

And Mitt Romney just LOVES to see his name in the news, so this will drag on. What a joke!

Oh Gary, don't you know that the only title of any importance in Mormonism is President? Otherwise you are just 1st counselor to the head of facilities management.

    Aug. 21, 2016 9:53 a.m.

"If Mitt Romney wants to be a part of the administration, that would be a guarantee."
I am not running for President, but I would offer Mitt the same guarantee. Gary and I have almost an identical chance of being the next president.

Donald wins on economics, energy, taxes, red tape removal, reducing budget deficit, govt waste reduction, military, safe border, helping inner cities, etc. A vote for Johnson just guarantees more Obama. I am amazed Romney panders to this.

If only a man of color, or a woman, or a Mormon would come to power then everything will be fine, right? Wrong!

It depends on the person, regardless of race, gender or religion. You know, the content of one's character, or don't we believe that any more? Good, wise and honest and, imo, someone who loves his fellow man, all of them: male, female, black, white, brown or yellow, of modest or great material wealth, LDS, Baptist, Catholic.

America will be great if America will be good and that goes for the people, not only the government. Seek the blessings of God and choose the best man available. That might just be Trump (gasp!) but let each be convinced in his own mind. It's worth a lot of honest thought, research and earnest prayer. These times are crucial.

To all the Trump supporters who have already posted I would simply like to remind them that Trump made his money by telling people what they want to hear. Pandering is his and Hillary's trademarks. Johnson hasn't tried to pander his whole run. Unlike others he is honest in what he says, and when he is wrong will admit it freely. He has proven that unlike the other two very unpopular candidates he is truthful even to a fault. As to his views on Romney and Leavitt he has said that he will pick from the best and brightest from both parties to fill his cabinet. He has not said the same of any other political people in any state where he has been. this can only lead one to think he is also being honest in his praise.

Gary Johnson is an honest and earnest man. I feel like there is every reason to believe that his statement would be honored. Few people would be a better Secretary of State than Gov. Romney, and imagine what a guy like Gov. Leavitt could do for western states as Secretary of the Interior.

This has the potential of pulling a lot of Utah votes, but it won't sway those Trump supporters who are angry at Romney for speaking the truth. I hope that Utah shows the nation that we don't have to stick with the two-party system this upcoming election season. We need change, and it's not going to happen by sticking with the status quo. And yes, Trump supporters, Trump is the status quo even though he claim otherwise.
