“The districts will need to provide proof that the engine and chassis have
been permanently disabled”. Does anyone remember the Cash for
Clunkers fiasco several years ago that required the car to be permanently
disabled? That Government program resulted in a dearth of used cars on the
market, with used car prices going through the roof.Smaller schools
and districts, and even foreigners, are the primary buyers of used buses. Does
this program mean that the purchasers of used buses are going to come up against
the same type of problem that used car buyers, and dealers, faced with the past
government program?Whenever a "Government" gets involved in
a program, the end results are often detrimental in their outcomes.
Wait Wait Wait!!! Utah doesn't want Federal dollars from the Obama
administration. Right? That's why we don't have Medicaid expansion. We
should turn this grant money down if we want to remain true to our values.
Right? Otherwise, it would be hypocrisy.
