@Jazz Source. The Jazz could have had Hayward last year, 4years@ $13M/year but wouldn't come off of $12M. So now they are going to pay him $15M/year and if he plays well he can opt out after 3 years. Didn't play this one well.

Hood hasn't even played in the NBA yet and he already has the prospect of being a better 3 point shooter than our max contract player Hayward.

The advanced analytics that Dennis Lindsey claims to believe in show Hayward is NOT worth a max contract.

I have been been pleased with Lindsey with the exception of this foregone Hayward decision.

Hayward is a good role player which begs the question as to why he is being payed like Paul George?

Haywards shooting is declining not improving and that is a bad stat for a player this many years into the league. I get the fact that he had all the defenses on him yada yada but he just flat out missed alot of open shots.

I get that the salary cap is going up making this deal worth less down the road and the fact that at this second he is our best player.

What I don't get is investing this amount of money in a player that can't elevate winning or the teams overall performance in any meaningful way. i.e. playoffs and/or championship contention.

    Bad investment towards mediocrity Lindsey.
