When your side is president, fine, leave all the soldiers you don't like behind.

I am simply amazed at the Republican hate machine. They have turning one of our soldiers into so much hate and discontent that his father and mother have had death threats. Yet they rally around and support a real traitor like Snowden.

What is wrong with this picture?

Mike Richards.... from a military report as reported by FoxNews today...

"The official said the two soldiers in Bergdahl’s unit who died were in a combat outpost that was attacked. The official said it was impossible to prove a link between their deaths and Bergdahl's disappearance.

In addition, investigators have determined that some of the other eight soldiers were killed while driving a logistic delivery to the base, and likely would have been doing so regardless of the search. The official said a few others were involved in explosive ordinance detection, but did not say whether that job was related to their deaths."

So to blame this man, with whatever information you think you have.... is just wrong at this point. To put the blood of these soldiers on Bergdahl.... is a stretch beyond any moral justification. It may be found at some time that he has culpability.... but according to information we have today, even published by FoxNews, those accusations are not yet supported by any findings in fact.

Lets start with letting the trail begin before proclaiming guilt.

Mike Richards.... I must have missed the memo... I guess innocent until proven guilty has been suspended. Surely a constitutional expert like yourself would never ask people to openly violate this mans constitutional rights.... so due process must been stricken from the books.

I love how conditional adherence to constitutional principles can be. At one time, federal land is illegal, and the President of the United States needs to be impeached because he executed provisions of the Clean Air Act. Then moments later, this same person can then lay claims of treason, and responsibility for other peoples deaths, without the benefit of even having the person charged with anything yet.

Conditional morals are most distasteful and unflattering. Politics aside, to go after this young man, and even worse, his family.... to insinuate he is unworthy after 5 years captivity of the love of his own family... its hard to imagine the internal justification of such things. Conservative, Christian... and able to hate so easily with so little proven...

I am sure those who killed Pat Tillman received equal scorn upon their return home as well... by our dear "conservative" friends. Anything short of that would by hypocrisy.

No can lower the meaning of the term far enough to match the disgraceful behavior of Modern "Conservatives."

    Well --
We have 2bits accusing his Dad as being a member of the Taliban because of his dress,
And we have non-veteran Mike Richards telling the rest of us not to welcome home an American POW.

That about says enough for me, folks....

    Oh and --
    Welcome home Bowe.

Let's leave the "welcome home rhetoric to the families of the six soldiers who died trying to find that Sargent. Can we presume to "welcome home" anyone who caused the death of six soldiers who were killed trying to find that Sargent? Let the "process" tell us whether that Sargent should be welcome.

I believe this is a very well orchestrated set up by Obama to prove how hateful Republicans are.
If it is, it is working very well.

We need to wait for the Military Report.

For anyone and including Bergdahl, "Welcome Home."

Would a bank robber be welcomed by his community?

It seems to me that the first item of business is to fully investigate the charges that the Sargent left his post.

I doubt that the parents had anything to do with that. The parents are not "on trial".

We have every right to know whether Obana used a soldier to divert attention from all of the scandals in the administration. If that soldier was "used" by the Commander in Chief. Then the problem lies with the President.

No matter what Obama's apologizists tell us, we have laws, including the law that requires the Oresjdent to notify Congress of prisoner exchanges. All parts of this "incident" need to be fully investigated.

"Barack takes the word "disgrace" to a new low!"

I think this level of politics has dove to new lows, but I don't think it is Barack that is the disgrace. To go after this guys family.... that in my opinion shows new levels of low.

As to his dads appearance.... put a baseball hat on, give him a shot gun, and he would be a hero to the Duck Dynasty crowd. Why no cries to have those chaps clean up...? Are they Muslim sympathizers too... long beards and all. Next thing you know, ZZ Top will be accused of being Muslim terrorist sympathizers.

Or perhaps had his dad been standing with a gun in front of BLM police, he would be labelled a true patriot by some of these posters.

This guy just wanted his son back, regardless of what he may or may not have done. There have been no charges filed yet, and yet to some, he is a guilty as Osama himself.

"Obama freed 6 enemies of the US...5 Taliban members, and Bergdahl."

Yep... this discussion has taken disgrace to new lows... and not by Barack.

The Bergdahl family's biggest problem -- that he was released during the Obama administration. Because there is no way on earth that any Republican will ever admit that anything Obama does is acceptable. If these people aren't making partisan attacks against the "Kenyan socialist communist weak cowardly dictator" they aren't breathing.

How many people hate America for the economic oppression suffered by the little people caused by American business. Of those billions, how many are willing to fight Americans and regard it as a sanctified order from their God to kill Americans. Does the release of 5 add any amount of hate and danger for us that can be measured.

If the 5 leave us with the same or greater amount of hate for us, we have missed an opportunity to win a battle in the war on terrorism. If we had turned their minds away from the need for terror tactics and shown them the worth of the American way, we could have had 5 super salesmen for peace.

I would have taken them to a football game, Disneyland, church on Sunday, a backyard barbeque, fishing and experience others good things about America. I would have had them study economics and medicine and try to turn them away from war. I would have listened to their stories of life and try to find alternatives to terrorism.

"...and on top of that he has no appologies. "

How dare the guy who is criticized by conservatives for going on "apology tours" not apologize? By the way, um... just what exactly is he supposed to be apologizing for?

    @CHS 85,
I never said his dad was a bad person, or that he shouldn't love him... sheeees... talking about putting words I didn't say into MY mouth...

I said his appearance and his rhetoric (after years of Taliban captivity)... may freak the kid out!

It is shocking to me the way this family has been smeared for political reasons. It's sickening. If there is any question that Berghdahl left his post (which is sounds like there is), then I think that should be investigated and, if appropriate, he should be court martialed. But leave his family out of it. I can't imagine going through too much worse than what they went through.

The only difference being... Phil Robertson has the same appearance as his captors. But his dad not only has the appearance, but from his tweets it sounds like he also has the same anti-USA rhetoric as his captors (Phil doesn't).

That could REALLY freak him out... to get home and hear that dogma coming from his dad...

The fine folks of Hailey didn't wait to cancel the welcome home of their native son, preferring to look to the rest of the world like people too clueless to know when their minds are being changed by a TV network. I wouldn't blame Bergdahl for never setting foot there again, guilty or NOT.

2 bits said, "His dad looks so much like his Taliban captors who have been holding him prisoner."

Funny, I was thinking he looked just like Phil Robertson of Duck Dynasty fame. And being from Idaho myself, I was thinking it wasn't all that odd for a guy to look like that. Can anyone tell me the difference between the appearance of Phil Robertson and Bowe Bergdahl's "Taliban captors"?

I wonder if Bowe will be freaked out when he gets home and sees his dad.

He will probably wonder if he's having a flash-back. His dad looks so much like his Taliban captors who have been holding him prisoner. Being put right back in his father's custody, he may wonder if he really got released...

If I were Bowe... I'd be running AWAY from people who looked like his dad the rest of my life!

I hope his dad shaves, takes a bath, and cleans up the rhetoric he's posting on Twitter, before Bowe gets home.
