Chris B talks more about the PAC 12 than his school, because well, that is
really all he has to speak about lately. Note that he must travel to
USU and BYU threads for an audience, because UoU articles just don't seem
to have the same draw they used to. U football = Vanderbilt of the
Chris B…so what if the conferences are not the same…PAC 12
isn't the IVY league either. You all about prestige? How about just
enjoying good football. How is Utah doing in the PAC 12? As an ASU fan I could
say we own Utah, but I don't feel the need to do that.
All this Pac 12 vs. MWC talk is funny. The Pac 12 went 14-1 against the very
lowly MWC last year. The two conferences couldn't be any farther
apart in quality and prestige.
I am a fan of all Utah schools, but primarily Utah State. That UoU persons even
comment on USU articles is a testament to the growing parity between
schools...or growing confidence of USU against growing insecurity of UoU.Fact is, the UoU is the former champion of the mid major. The mid major
is college football's personification of the middle class. Power
conferences personify the privileged elite...the too wealthy to fail. The
rule-makers.Since embracing the no-brainer opportunity to join a
Power conference, some U fans, with little else to cheer for or say, have chosen
to embrace their privileged status in lieu of their team. And in so doing, have
become exactly the establishment they once railed against. That is cowardly. USU
is (happily) UoU's little brother in every respect: size, funding,
geography etc. As such, it deserves UoU support. When UoU stopped playing the
Aggies, it reflects the worst of what power conferences represent. Even the SEC
states require more loyalty from their flagship schools than that. Shame on the
U. Go Aggies. Finally, BYU fans have found their superior in
arrogance and hypocrisy.
Some of these comments just give me one more reason to dislike how Utah's
fan-base has evolved. Utah thrived as a mid-major in the Mountain
West and they prided themselves on their accomplishments in that league. Now
they're a member of the PAC for barely one recruiting cycle and all of a
sudden they hate mid-majors and everything that goes with it. Figures.Well, even as a mid-major, my Ags just last year:-Nearly won their
conference and did win their division-Won a bowl game against a ranked
opponent-Sent 12 guys to the NFL either as free agents or draft picksThe best part? The Ags were the only team in the state to do all of
those things. BYU lost their bowl game and Utah didn't even go to one. As a bonus, we had the highest TV ratings of all the in-state schools as
well (more than double what Utah pulled in, too). And to think we do this with
1/5 of the resources of Utah.Couldn't be happier with where my
pac 12 boy must care about the MWC, because he is here posting LOLutes are a MWC team in the pac11.uNo relevancy in the pac at
I wish Richard would answer but since he won't I guess I'll have to.
He's on the preseason Heisman list right? Enough said on that subject.
I'm sure Richard will take you up on it. Let me know if he does. Stang08
however is going to have to respectfully decline since I no longer live in Cache
Valley. I completely agree with Pac 12 Pride. I'm not a Ute fan but
let's face it Utah, BYU and TCU made the original MWC matter. After they
departed it became nothing more than the WAC 2.0 and irrelevant.
I have noticed a correlation with the Utah college football schools. When USU
does well the other two have bad seasons. When USU can win away games, the
Ute's can't win away games. When USU goes to bowl games and wins the
UoU can go to a any bowl games.
Tobey, Tobey, Tobey (Pac 12 Pride) -I'll take winning in a
mid-major over losing in a P5 any day. It seems fairly ironic that you would
trash-talk the Mountain West Conference. Your team hasn't done anything
noteworthy or relevant since they were members of that conference you love to
belittle. I find it so comical that Utah fans can only brag about
conference affiliation. What will the Utah fans have to cheer about for the next
2 years when you won't have wins over byu or a bowl game to look forward
to? The future of U is looking bleak to me...Maybe your 3rd
offensive coordinator in 3 years will turn it all around. GOOD LUCK!
Richard, Richard, Richard - Keeton is on the Heishman List. Who needs
All-Americans? And, who received the most NFL opportunities for the coming year
out of the Utah teams? You got it Richard, the Aggies. Just bought my 3 season
tickets for the games this year. One is for you so you can be the only Aggie
hater in the stadium while Chuckie is putting on the SHOW!
No All-Americans? Oh what a shame.
