Republicans made a political decision to make talking points a priority before the needs of their constituents.

Notice I said constituents...not their base.

Republicans need to learn they represent all the citizens of Utah...not simply their base or more importantly not just those who paid for their election.

The ACA was an economic "train wreck" that caused the dow to reach new highs and the economy to keep recovering. The Utah medicare position is a historic low point in the political system.

It is a gospel in the GOP that any surrender to the evils of "Obamacare" will cause the apocalypse. So why is the Governor pursuing this initiative?

Is it possible that the Governor recognizes that it is more important to take care of thousands of poor Utah residents than to keep the mantra going that "Obamacare" will drive us into the ditch? I certainly hope that he and members of his party would man-up and acknowledge that (like or not) the law is here to stay and that refusal to cover the most vulnerable is churlish at best. Maybe, just maybe, if they would work with the Administration some of the problems that are in this law could be fixed.

    is that asking so much?

Oh, you mean we shouldn't cut off our nose to spite our face (i.e. refuse to cooperate with anything associated with Obama, even if beneficial to our state, because that might give Obama a "win")? Why, how very un-Republican of you Deseret News. Me thinks you might be a RINO.
