    I am not a biologist but it seems to me that they are trying to get rid of the elk in our state with all the cow tags they have been giving out over the past years.

    Last year in some units they said they wanted to harvest as many anterless elk as possible.

    It saddens me to see what they are doing. I assume they must have their reasons but I like to see elk out when I am hunting even if I don't get one. It seems to me there is plenty of habitat for these elk and we don't need to slaughter all these cows.

    Maybe I am wrong just how I see it from my limited knowledge.

    wow 16,000 cow elk. That is a huge number and will do serious damage to the elk herds.
