@Joecoug your .500 prediction was already wrong so to say Utah will not compete in the Pac12 is down right stupid. Like the Pac12 Utah is getting stronger and showed that they could compete. Once they learn to win on the road which is the next step for this young team. Which will happen this year with the talent they added. Utah will be a perennial basketball team in the Pac competing for championships on a regular basis.

As for losing Mika and Carolino for byu. They are both big loses since carolino was the only one who can play defense and create his own shot and Mika was your only inside presence. Who else can play the 5 for byu. Utah again will dominate byu this year after all Utah plays all around team ball which includes suffocating defense. Where byu just believes in trying to out run and gun their opponents. Works well in the weak wcc but not in a real conference like the Pac12.

I stand by my prediction, though I've been wrong before. And Crow...really? A Pac 12 Championship before a WCC Championship? Bet's on. There is NO WAY that happens, as even though we lose Mika, there was not one senior on last year's team, and losing Carlino may help us more than hurt us. The Utes may some day win a conference championship, but not in the imminent future. Let me say, in fairness, Utah would win a WCC crown way before a P12 one.

I feel confident we could win the WCC next year (and yes, I know the league is weaker than the P12). I predict beating Utah at the MC next year, and stand by my prediction for the Utes. While Utah had an excellent recruiting year, the P12 is only going to get stronger. Dr. Hill and everyone wanted in an elite conference (and so would I...trust me), and the price you've paid (and will continue to pay) is losses against better climates, markets and athletes. Sorry...

Krystkowiak is well on his way to becoming the best basketball coach in the state, pro or college.

Utah basketball is where it's at, in both the Pac 12 and the state of Utah.

Larry K has been a million times the coach I first feared he would be, and I am so happy that we seem to have finally got that home run hire we've been looking for since Majerus left. Now we just need to make sure he remains happy so he won't go anywhere else.

@joe coug Utah was .500 in league play this year. With the recruiting class Coach K brought in they are getting stronger. The next step in the progression of the rebuilding process is winning on the road once that happens the Utes will challenge for the Pac12 championship on a regular basis. Unlike byu Utah has more than one player who can create their own shot and they play defense. I'd worry more about trying to beat Gonzaga for the wcc championship. Utah will win a Pac12 championship before byu wins a wcc championship.

    Joe Coug:

    No over .500....

How would you like your crow served?

Yes, Joe, how will they ever get above .500 in conference when they only return all starters from a team that went .500 in conference and add the conference's 4th ranked recruiting class? Things certainly look bleak for this team, to the point that they're being projected as a 9 seed in the NCAA, 3rd best in the conference, by Lunardi.

Success? Well...looking at the schedule, that's debatable. I know he's rebuilding a program (and doing a nice job at that), but I predict difficult times ahead in a tough conference. Tough to recruit against locales such as AZ, CA and WA. I don't think the Utes will be over .500 in league play anytime soon. They sure took it to us, though, so who knows? I wish Coack K the best. Seems like a fine man and a fine coach.

Coach K has done an amazing job for Utah. He seems to have the Majerus basketball genius without out all the crazy things that went with it. He is building a great program and doing it the right way. With the players BYU has coming back from missions, the next couple of years could really see both schools out there lighting up the scoreboard.

    Stay tuned...
