I think it is incredible that a negative story about a man attending the birth of his wife and baby even made headlines. Really?

Many other people in other jobs do the same every single day in the world. And, that's the way it ought to be!

Nobody is really criticizing him. Talk radio is paid to give opinions about everything!!! But really this story is overblown. Nobody is truly upset that he took a leave of absence to be with his baby.

I hate stories like this that try to stir controversy or generate reads.

I'll bet he and his sweetheart will be married for a long time and his children will grow up knowing they have TWO loving parents. Three HUGE cheers for this family man of courage. Shame on the talking heads for their rude insensitivity toward this great young man. Thanks to him and his wife for showing us all what the REAL priorities are in this life. I mean he missed about 1% of the season. If the METS fail this year, I guess they will have smeone to blame ... I mean what was he thinking missing 1% of the season to be with his beloved during the miracle of birth.

Murphy did the right thing... almost. He should have stayed with his wife and child longer.

Tell me this is some sort of joke. The whole premise of sports talk radio is to make ridiculous statements, take ridiculous positions, and generally rile people up in the hopes that you get enough people to listen to your show. While these opinions seem ridiculous to me, that is what they get paid to do.

Hey Daniel Murphy, you can afford to give free hot dogs to all fans to each home game on how many days you missed. Hope that will help to cool off those stupid fans. Glad you stayed with your wife and new born kid Hoah.
