The last time the Red Rocks won a national championship was 1995; Utah was still in the WAC and the MWC was still four years in the future.

No, the conference doesn't necessarily make the team better, but it does provide better competition, and makes the events that much more exciting. Having nearly every meet feature at least one other top 25 team makes for much more enjoyable experience and appreciation of the sport. The only other conference one can argue is tougher than the PAC-12 is the SEC, currently holding 4 of the top 6 rankings, although the PAC has more top 25 teams (7) than any other conference.

Greg Marsden is solely responsible for the long-term success of the Red Rocks.

Conference affiliation has absolutely nothing to do with it.

Conference affiliation has nothing to do with the success of Utah women's gymnastics.

The Red Rocks were one of the nation's best gymnastics programs in the WAC, NAIA and NCAA, they were one of the best in the MWC, and now they're one of the best in the PAC.

Anybody claiming that the Red Rocks' success is somehow related to PAC 12 membership is simply living on wishful thinking that this will somehow, magically, rub off on Utah's other sports programs.

Not long ago Larry Scott said that the University of Utah is a "perfect fit both academically and culturally" in the Pac-12 and that over time, the athletic will see their share of success.

Well, Red Rocks...let it begin here!! Congratulations and thank you!!!!!

    Congrats to the Red Rocks!

It's nice to see that at least the Utah women are competitive at something in the PAC 12.

Congrats red rocks, my daughter is excited. What a great gymnastics program at the U. I've watched them with daughter at HC a couple times and they're fun to watch.

First PAC-12 title! The best of the best.

At least there's one PAC12 championship competition where Utah will be taken seriously.
