Let's go Cougars! I think it'll be a brawl to the end, but we should prove the better team.

Boards and free throw and threes - we must also impose our will in the trenches. Kyle had a great game even without his bricks, but those have to go away. I wonder what his FT average was before his mission? Obviously MIka has improved on his this season - and I love Anson. He's been even better than Haws at the line, I think. That's where we might win or lose it, if we're going to be aggressive taking it inside. Go Cougs!

San Francisco is a scary team, and BYU will have to do a number of things to win tonight: (1) make 40-50% of their threes; (2) make 75-80% of their free throws; (3) box out to minimize second-chance possessions; (4) get Haws some open looks on mid-range jumpers; (5) defend well on the perimeter; and (6) keep their big men out of foul trouble. Otherwise, they'd better hope USF is off ~its~ game, too.

I think the cougs were rusty shooting the 3 ball. I also predict it will improve and be the game difference in the win againgst SF. A win will also make the league look foolish is passing by Rose for coach of the year! I don't like the late start which is in the favor of the Pacific time zone team.
my suggestion: Mika, look to rebound first and shoot second. team, make free throws. Haws, don't force your shoot early, it will come as the game progesses. now, go out and beat the Dons and a great TEAM First atttitude. Go cougs.

Watching the LMU game, my buddy noticed how hard the rims were. This gives the ball a little bigger bounce and takes away some of the rattle-in shots. The could have affected 3 point shooting, as neither team shot well from the arc. So BYUs penetration was probably the best approach.

Collinsworth is a animal, for sure. Hope he gets a lot of FT practice over the summer. He'll be a superstar if those FTs start falling at 80%.

I think that BYU has a great chance to outrebound again if SF guards Haws with the big guy again. Not sure they will do that though. Also, it was after the last game with them that Rose changed up the lineup. I really like the new starting lineup, Winder is a great defender and then bringing Carlino and Mika off the bench is great. I think BYU will win this game and they need to win it. Lose this, and I think we are NIT bound, win and NCAA. Although I would love a rematch with Utah in the NIT but at the Marriott Center, that would be great. However, I think they will win tonight and head to the NCAA tournament.

This is the game where BYU punches there ticket to the NCAA tourney. Look forward to the possible Gonzaga-BYU matchup. Gonzaga almost gave it away in there first round game.

"13 day layoff"? What team/sport r u following? Pretty sore byu played the previous Saturday.
I'm scared of SF. I don't see us getting all of those offensive rebounds again. Hopefully we will make more shots
so there aren't a lot or offensive rebounds to be had.

Cougars were rusty, 13 day layoff, in LMU game, expect shooters to do better from 3 against SF. BYU has the talent, if they stick together and everyone plays their best. SF's greatest asset may be their Coach, but he doesn't play. Its Dave Rose's time to win a tournament. Win Cougars!

Just an observation, I think Chris B. is really a BYU fan, and simply wants to support by playing devil's advocate. I think he cares more than almost anyone else for the Cougars to win, even firing up Cougar fans using reverse psychology. Thanks Chris B., from the posts I've seen, it seems to be working.

Just as long as BYU doesn't come into the game overconfident, we have a chance. Plus, it wouldn't hurt if Collinsworth could grab another 16 rebounds.

I like the fact USF's coach is overconfident. Loses to Gonzaga and BYU twice and therefore has the best team in the conference tournament?
Methinks the "Coach of the year Award" has gone to his head.

I must say that I love having BYU in the WCC. What a great conference.

This may be a tougher matchup than Gonzaga but I think the Cougars will be well prepared for them and I see them in the championship game. BYU is no longer talked about being a bubble team and should be squarly in the NCAA.

I also see the utes getting by Washington but that will be the end to their 2014 season unless the CIT or WCI come calling. NIT is a very remote possibility since there are so many teams with a better sos and better records than utah that will not make the NCAA.

This should be a 'barn burner'. I can make an argument for both teams. It will come down to which team can play within themselves and not play too uptight. The Cougars need to stay calm when the other team makes a run and play the best defense of the season.
    Go Cougars!

BYU's Basketball team is peaking at the right time. Is Utah a tournament team? Unlike some posters, I don't pay more attention to my rival team than my own team. Because I like my own team and, and my life is fulfilling enough without having to troll everyday.
