Chris B: If you're right, they will have the whole ute nation for company.
Is that comforting?
Carlino's play off the bench has certainly earned him the right to get his
starting job back. And I still say the team plays better with him in there.
Benching Halford was long overdue. No defense and spotty shooting. It is
hard to argue with success, though, with Carlino coming off the bench. He IS
playing better than when he was a starter...And Winder has played
consistently well. As much as I like Carlino it's hard to argue with
WCC tourney prediction: If BYU wins tomorrow at San Diego, then they are a lock
for second seed in WCC quarterfinal opener March 8---where they will most likely
wind up playing: San Diego (7th seed) . If BYU loses to San Diego tomorrow,
then BYU will likely enter the WCC tournament March 8 as a 3 seed in which case
they would certainly play the sixth seed: probably San Diego. Hence, they
better be ready to play San Diego 2 Saturday's in a row: both March 1 and
8. (NOte: if BYU winds up as a 2 or 3 seed, then they will almost surely play
San Francisco in the semifinal WCC tourney game---assuming they make it past San
Diego in the quarterfinal.)
Just a thought. Utah won't go to the dance. BYU needs a miracle to go to
the dance. The school in Utah with the best chance of going to the dance is
Utah Valley University. Never saw that coming.
If Collinsworth is 61st in assists, and 99th in rebounding, why not say
he's in the top 100 in both categories? Kinda weird to say he's in
the top 150.
The Winder change was long overdue, but as they say - better late than never.
Chris,BYU is going dancing. Time to face reality. Utah is NIT bound
which is a great accomplishment from where they've been. I think Utah has a
chance to go far in the NIT just as the Y did last year.
