    @Long Time SUU Fan

    Finally another SUU fan and I agree with you. Okay you are right and we meet all of those. Evans was losing and was let go. Reid was losing and was let go. Let's move on from that. This is now Robinsons team.

    Once again I ask how can you write this article without scrutinizing Roger Reid. I'm not bashing him but the facts show that in 5 seasons he was 54-97, not very good. While Bill Evans, who was fired to make room for Reid, was 209-223 over 15 seasons. Not great, but he did win a conference championship and got them to the NCAA Tournament. And to Stang08 being D1 isn't about "numbers" it's about meeting the NCAA criteria for that classification. Such as proper scheduling, sponsorship of sports, and other areas. Yes this years team is very young. But what did Coach Reid leave Coach Robinson to work with? Questions not explored in this article but should have been.

    I have been a fan of basketball and SUU all my life. This article seems to want to make a lot of excuses but does not address one of the real problems. In every game we have been to within the first 10 minutes of the game SUU has often times subbed as many as 20 times and has played 13 different players. I don't claim to be an expert on basketball but I have never seen any program do that. You can tell the confidence of the players is damaged every time they get pulled from the game. I have tried to figure out the reasoning but there just isn't any. I think SUU is a lot better than their record shows. Don't get me wrong I don't want to see any changes to the basketball staff but maybe they could take a good hard look at substitution scheme they use and play more like other schools, playing 8-10 players and let the players stay in the game long enough to build some confidence in themselves. We have good players, they just need a chance to play.

    Being a young team certainly plays a factor in wins and losses, but losing 23 games in a row? That is bad no matter how you slice it. Sounds like a coaching problem.

    I thought the current T-birds staff was put together last season, not just this season. Isn't this Robinson's second year at the helm? I just can't believe the dip even from last season is this severe.

    It's never been hard. I've been going since the 08-09 school year and it's always empty. Why more people from the University don't support the team I do not know. It's almost impossible to get a seat at the football games and for good reason, they are a great team. Basketball needs more support.

    On the plus side, it isn't hard to get a front row seat at any home game this year.

    Why does everyone want to blame Coach Reid? It is not his fault whatsoever. I completely agree with Stang08's previous comments. We are a very VERY young team. We have more freshman than upper classman. Give this staff a chance. This particular staff has only been together for this season. Lets see how we do after our freshman get more playing time. Im always a T-Bird fan!

    We are D1 because of our numbers. This is typical to blame Reid. If Evans was so good why did we get Reid? Evans wasn't doing the job. Reid didn't either but that's not the point. All the blame cannot/should not fall on him. Robinson being in his second year with a young group is a good reason SUU isn't any good.

    If Race Parsons is given a fair shot, he can lead them into the upper division of the Big Sky. His talent is unmatched!

    What I want to know is how Roger Reid escaped scrutiny in this article. He took over a pretty good program from Bill Evans and left in in this shape? Also, to LivinLarge yes SUU is a DI member of the Big Sky Conference. They have been a DI member for many years now.
