This "rivalry match" is big enough to cover before hand. Yet, with the results, not big enough to cover after the result is known. Neither is a 15 inning win over a top 10 baseball team. Nor a win in the regional ski championship.

Is it a newspaper job to report or to promote?

    Go Utes!

It isn't inconsistent reporting it is a case of biased reporting. Nothing is more important to the Des News than the image and perception that it can put forward for byu. I'm finding myself opening the Des News Web Site less frequently each passing week.

In fact, I haven't read a Dick Harmon article since he called all the Presidents and Chancellors of the Pac-10 schools "bigots" in June of 2010. That's when Utah and Colorado were added to the elite Pac-12 and Harmon's beloved cougars were left out of the discussion. Harmon should have been zeroed in on byu's deficiencies instead of blaming someone else. Typical.

I happened to notice that, too.

Recently the BYU ranked women's team also played Utah. After the match it was disclosed Utah's team was higher ranked than BYU's. Utah won!

Now we see the BYU's nationally ranked men's team will meet the Utah men's team. Yet the article indicates the Y is "clearly the underdogs."

After Saturday we will probably lean 1) Utah's team was also ranked and 2) It was probably a higher ranking.

Incredibly consistent reporting! As they say, "Deja Vu, all over again!"
